Jared Weiss and Mark Murphy both just indicated that the Celtics were not interested in Cousins fwiw.

Also Poirier was looking for a promise of role/minutes to come over to the NBA so I do not see Cousins as possible now.

Just for comedy sake, Robot Dave tweeted out last night that Cousins is officially signing with Celtics. lol. I am not linking cause I don't want to add to his fandom.
The reddit/twitter insiders grift is such a hilarious racket.

Well people on this forum instantly believe a redditor who said that Leonard to the Lakers is a done deal. :D
He's the most famous at the moment!

Its a racket that has the advantage that sometimes people do leak stuff like that. Or have burners where they leak news. So its plausible and thus it hooks people into the rumor hype.

And the beauty of it is there are so few possible outcomes at this point that it's easy to be both full of it and "proven right".

Based on what @GoodmanHoops told me on the latest #CelticsBeat, you should not expect the #Celtics to sign DeMarcus Cousins, even if they could get him for the vet minimum.

If character wins over talent, Cousins isn’t the right fit for a vulnerable locker room in need of repair
y

so that guy watched no Cousins basketball last season.....he can go flip off and jump in the lake . What a load of mule dung  ::)

I posted this in the Theis thread, but I would guess this door is shut.

Much has been made of the continued availability of DeMarcus Cousins. According to source, Celtics are not interested. Don't want the potential drama

We didn't consider Cousins worth the trouble before the injury, I can't see why we would now, especially when his self-interest would be overwhelmingly to look out for himself to get a bigger contract next year.

Sounds like heresay.
It literally is!

Hearsay is also called reporting when its not in a courtroom. I trust the sourced reporting of Zach Lowe, Ryen Russilo, Windhorst, Tom Haberstroh, Jackie Mac, etc, etc.

Not sure if you're agree with me (and forgive my misspelling, I sneaked on CBlog while at work today and was in a rush, lol) but I feel Cousins gets a bad rap. Again, not sure if the people you're referring to say he has a bad attitude, but I'd take him on my team in a heartbeat. We need some toughness on our team and basketball is a physical sport.

Celtics loss, then.

I still feel we need a power forward and one who can help stretch the floor. Someone like a Kevin Love or (gulp) Olynyk. I've never been an Olynyk fan, but you know what....desperate times call for desperate measures.

I really feel we'd get crushed with either Hayward or Tatum as our power forward. At least we got Kanter to hold down center.

He's going to be available for veteran minimum or less and motivated to show he can still play. He can stretch the floor and there are not reports of him being a bad teammate since Sac. Low risk high reward potential until next years draft when they grab a center with the Memphis pick..why not? Better than an unknown from France!

The real downside is that brad would eventually go back to college if we keep on bringing in boogie cousins types, and the Celtics have had a fair amount of success when they haven't had these types of players

If they can get Boogie for the vet minimum for a year,  they should jump at it. Chump change. Just his presence on the court would make a difference. None of those guys Ainge is signing will make a dent on the opposition. Boogie will cause Davis and Embiid to get a little nervous. Even at less than 100% in the finals with the Warriors, he played very tough and with heart. The guy is a beast.  He's a long version of Smart in toughness.

If Boogie was good enough for the Warriors, he should be good enough for the Celtics. Ainge loves Smart, and Smart is the same sort of beast on the court. The team needs more toughness, especially against Philly this year. They are loaded up front, and Danny is signing too much inexperience.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Keep this idiot away from our locker room! We already had the young guys deal with Kyrie's BS last season. If we want Tatum and Brown to sign extensions with us and to realize their potential we don't need selfish idiots like this guy taking possesions away, playing no defense and whining on every call against him.

This dude is a cancer!
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
