I know Woj reports Cousins market has dried up. I'm not sure I buy that.

Once Leonard decides, either Lakers or Clips are going to be left holding a bag of cap space. The loser of the Leonard sweepstakes (possibly both LA teams) is going to be able to spend good $$ on Boogie. Davis liked playing with him; they were quite good together.

So let me get this straight.

People give hayward the benefit of the doubt 2 years after his injury.

But cousins is washed up garbage after only 1 year. Tearing his quad...you know that eas bothering him leading up to the tear as well.

If this team can add cousins at even only 60% then he is the best big on the team

All of a sudden, its 2 years? ****. Its not even a year since his last surgery.

Better stick to creating Hayward trades.

Its been 2 seasons since the break and over a year since second surgery to take out hardware.

Cousins' first injury was in Jan of 2018.

If he is willing its a no brainer.

I actually think being with hayward who is coming back from a bad injury would do him very well mentally.

Would be a great pick up. If, and it's a big if, he's somewhat healthy and would come for what the Celtics could pay it would be crazy not to sign him.

As far as his personality. Never heard a report that team mates didn't like him. Sure he can be a jerk on the court, but if you haven't noticed, so is Smart. Get's a lot of bad T's. Argues with refs, Goes at it with other players. Yet for some reason fans here love him.

Cousins is one of those guys that you hate, unless he's on your team.

Kind of like the Patriots.

Pass.

Celts can't offer better than the minimum anyway.

Pass, I don't want his attitude near Robert Williams.

I doubt the Celtics are going to put up with attitude issues after last season.  There's no financial risk for the team.  If it's not working then we can simply dismiss him.  There's no way Cousins will be a worse example than last years group.

I've never heard a teammate say anything bad about Cousins.

Neither have I, but that doesn't mean he can't be an issue inside the locker room.  Most reports mention that Cousins was prone to yelling at coaches during practice and film session.  There's also his lack of composure on the court.  These can be major issues, especially if teammates really like him.

Sounds like heresay.

Cousins was suspended for yelling at Head Coach, Keith Smart, in his 2nd season.  It started during the game and then he berated him in the locker room.  He was also suspended in 2016 for screaming at George Karl during a timeout.  There's also the Nik Stauskas incident from 2017.

Cousins was also the quickest player to get suspended for technical fouls in a single season.  He easily has the most technicals' of any player since entering the league.

Does this mean Cousins couldn't work in Boston?  Absolutely not, as I'm in favor of the team taking a flier on him.  I also believe that the Kings deserve equal blame for being a terrible organization during Cousins tenure.  However, let's not pretend that Cousins isn't a serious headcase.  There's a reason why most GM's stayed away when he was on the trade block in 2017.

I imagine the difference in how we treat them is based on the fact they were completely different injuries. Athletes with leg breaks tend to recover to the level they were at before. Athletes who bust their Achilles tend to struggle to get back to their previous heights.

If those teams weren't interested in him but we still needed to offer more than the vet min to have the best offer, we could dump Yabu on one of the teams for the price of two seconds, then be low enough under the cap to offer Cousins like $5 MM using cap space. I would also be willing to make a similar move so the Celtics could sign Willie Cauley Stein.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

You couldn't even touch Cousins if he hadn't been injured.

Heck, the Nets just gave KD  $40M + with same achilles injury. The quad is nothing. Cousins played great for the Warriors in the playoffs. Very tough under the boards. Big body. I suspect somebody will creatively outbid Ainge.

By the way, that Robo guy tweeted yesterday Cousins was meeting with Celtics today. I didn't take it seriously, but I guess he was right.

Here's the scoop as I understand it.

There isn't a larger than vet min market for him, which is a bargain. It seems like if Kawhi goes to Lakers, he'll sign there. If not, perhaps Celtics or Heat.

Vet min contract has very little downside. At that cost, you'd have to take him.

Getting Cousins for cheap. No brainer.
Here’s a guy who should be trying to earn a big contract next year.

What has Williams done so far? has not proven anything..might be a good player or not but we all know how good Cousins is..sign him to 1 year and if he causes problems, cut him
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

He is a shell of his former self (after injury).  He got burnt numerous times vs Raptors ..... and couldn't handle Gasol nor stay in front of the perimeter players

constant complaining towards the refs/technicals is also baggage

I hope if Cousins looks around the league, he remembers that Brad Stevens has gotten Kelly O, Rozier, and Evan Turner PAID.
