so, assuming Kemba signs and we dont get capela in a trade (which imo is a longshot to get him).

what are our options? we have 4.8million$ mid level exception and Veteran minimum contracts to offer. who is out there?

Nerlens!! Could be more than a stopgap if everything works out. He's only 25 and has a lot of defensive potential
Memphis Grizzlies

Kanter? Huge rebounder. Not much else.

Off the top of my head:

Noah Vonleh
Dewayne Dedmon
Ed Davis
Nerlens Noel
Robin Lopez
Frank Kaminsky (RFA)
Kosta Koufos
Kevon Looney
Boban Marjanovic
Ivica Zubac (RFA)
Zaza Pachulia
Greg Monroe

Personally speaking, I'd go after Vonleh.

Great list , TP,  I would add Thomas Bryant to it  RFA.

Vonleh, Kamisky, Dedmon and Robin Lopez would fit nicely in CBS system.  Personally, I would love to see Stevens evolve and learn how to play with conventional bigs.

Ed Davis always plays well against us, it seems. Noel would be ok if the price is right but I think that we will be prisoner to a CBS type of big men to some degree

Dream on. Wizards are going to re-sign him.

We can’t afford Dedmon. Will get more than the 4.8.

I agree about Vonleh, hoping the Knicks don’t bring him back. If they strike out on Durant, they’ll have a lot of cap space to give him big 1 year deal. They like him. His trajectory is good, has more length than Horford and can play stretch. Also defends pretty well vs Giannis.

I was not dreaming, we were making a list and he is a RFA.   I think most of these guys are nightmares.

It's certainly an option if the Celtics aren't willing to part ways with Smart in a Capella deal.  At some point Danny Ainge needs to put pressure on CBS to tweak the offense.  In a perfect world, the combo of Kemba, Brown, Hayward, and Tatum would be able to score at a high level while on the court together.  Capella is obviously a much better rim runner than Noel, but I'd much prefer to have Smart when the playoffs arrive.  Either way it would be nice to have an efficient offense that doesn't rely on a floor stretching big man.

Ainge could always pursue two veterans with different styles.  Here's some other names:

Dewayne Dedmon - Would be ideal as a stopgap.  Concerned that someone will pay more than the Celtics can afford.
Frank Kamisky - Would be great for floor spacing in a 15-20 MPG role.  Major liability on defense, especially when the playoffs arrive.
Ed Davis - Excellent rebounder and solid defender.
Noah Vonleh - Another good rebounder and he's shown improvement with the 3 point shot

As I mentioned, Ainge might end up signing a couple of players to fill the Center spot.  There's also the possibility of other trades once the free agent period is over with.  Maybe he moves a rookie, future draft pick, and filler for a veteran big man.

Dreaming = Unrealistic.

Why make a suggestion about a RFA that we have no $$ to make a legitimate offer for?  JK
