Richaun Holmes probably get him for a vet min.  He's 25 6'10" 240 can play both PF and C.

Nerlens Noel would be my first pick. He's a really good defender, with the potential to be a great one. He also won't take many shots away from the rest of our guys.
2023 No Top 75 Fantasy Draft Los Angeles Clippers
PG: Dennis Johnson / Jo Jo White / Stephon Marbury
SG: Sidney Moncrief / World B. Free
SF: Chris Mullin / Ron Artest
PF: Detlef Schrempf / Tom Chambers / Buck Williams

I suspect people looking for fireworks on acquiring a big will be disappointed.

I'm not expecting fireworks. I'm worried Danny can't/wont get anyone! :-[

yeah ...i hear ya ......its a sickening feeling knowing how he avoids signing bigs like its disease.  part of Ainge ball 🏀 hate the worst
i know. i wish he would at least make an effort to get big player in here. someone like AD or KG. but he never even tries.

I haven’t seen him much but his stats are pretty good.  What’s his defense like?

Used to be pretty good defender. Also had a 3 point shot with Philly as I recall. He is certainly someone to consider for the MLE.

Engaged and mobile defender. Active but timid. Gets overpowered by any bigs with legit size. Kinda soft. Doesn't have enough heft / lower body strength to battle in the paint against big bodies.

End of bench player.

Which part is ridiculous? Kelly has consistently ranked in the top third in DRPM...
do you divide big men into
good defenders - like 10% of them
And the rest 90% that can’t defend and not being worth of a roster spot

Oh really, because I missed him on this list for centers

http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/ORPM/position/9

and this one for PF he is 24th.

http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/6

Where were you get your 3rd stats?  No where do I see him third, unless it is a heat only page, perhaps?

He is also very soft aside from the Kevin Love thing.

I like Holmes as a cheap big too... probably underrated because he was playing for Phoenix imo

Who is someone Danny can target solely to help defend Giannis?  Even if it is for 15-18 minutes a game in a playoff series. We have Semi already but we need more.

Could Noel possibly help in that regard? He is long and athletic for sure.

Enes Kanter and Kevon Looney would work for me at C and PF

If Kanter isn't feasible because of his international issues, then I think Robin Lopez would be a nice pick-up.

I can't understand why Olynyk is even being mentioned.

as best as i can tell, for two reasons.

1. olly is tall.

2. people here know him.

Passing ability.

Stevens likes to have a big man who can pass the ball for his offense to work effectively. Whenever Boston fielded teams without a quality passing big in previous years, the offense would drop off.

Olynyk replaces a lot of what Al Horford did for the team on the offensive end of the floor in terms of facilitating the offense given his passing ability, decision making and outside shooting.

Olynyk not one of my favourite options (I prefer more of a rebounder & defender given our team's makeup) but he does have positives to bring to the table that would be valuable for the team.

Same here. Just don't like him much at PF though. But very high quality backup 5 or even potentially starter.
