Herro is a terrible defender.  He is a solid shooter, which often translate very well, very quickly, but I'm not sure he will ever be much more than he currently is.  That is still a solid value pick for the end of the lottery, but I don't think he has all star level potential.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

He doesn't have to be an All-Star to be more than a solid pick. If he turns into Kyle Korver, that is an excellent get at pick 13.

I liked his effort defensively.  Otherwise, he didn’t play enough for me to comment on much else.

Most importantly got through the game without getting injured

Whoa!

That means Romeo's per-36 average for assists is 7.2!!

He looked tentative and nervous last night, which is common for rookies but resulted in some poor close outs and a quick hook.

Just a reminder than coming in and immediately belonging like Tatum did is truly special.

And that assist was very liberal score keeping too.  ;)

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

So, if he ends up putting up Evan Turner numbers (Boston numbers, where he was arguably at his best), would we be thinking that is a reasonable output for a person drafted from that spot? (FWIW I think Turner was a very useful cog in his time here....the angst about him stems mostly from the spot he was drafted, which is fair enough).

Romeo would be worse than Turner if he produced similar box stats, Turner's size and length (6'7, long arms) gave us significant defensive value, I don't think Romeo can provide us that as a 6'4 guard/wing. But yeah it'd be reasonable output from the 14th pick, these picks usually go boom or bust with the in betweens being cheap role players. What I'd be happy with is 17-20 points per 75 possessions on above league average efficiency as a secondary/tertiary creator with decent playmaking chops and the ability to warp defences with the threat to score lol
