The trade appears as senseless now as it did back in 2011.

We got outrebounded by the Knicks tonight.

We sure could've used another big like Perk.

Jeff Green is talented, but the trade just didn't make any sense then and makes even less sense now.

It's almost like our 2008 championship team was slowly but surely dismantled in the last 6 years, minus Pierce, KG and Rondo.

So you're claiming we didn't need Green's offense this game?

Exactly. We didn't need Jeff Green, period. Small forwards like Green are a dime a dozen in the NBA. A defensive big like Perk is more of a rare breed that should've been kept.

Trouble, Perk can barely play anymore.   If you would rather have Perk than Green right now, I have some real estate on Saturn I will sell to you real cheap.

Bass is as good as rebounder as Perk these days, folks.

Perk sucks and is a shadow of his former self.  Here is his last box score.

Some guys just don't get it.

15 minutes per game in the playoffs....he can't get off the bench out West where the need for legit big men is greater than the in the East.

3 rebounds per game in the playoffs...that is awful.

Thunder are paying nearly 8 million towards Perk to not play him and play Ibaka and Collison at Center.

This should be more like the "Re-re-re-visiting the Perk for Green trade".

Right?

Perkins sure has to prove his worth in the Memphis series, because right now 3.3 Rebounds, 3.5 Personal Fouls, 2.2 TO and 2 Points in 15 Minutes per Game will lock you as a surefire amnesty candidate this off-season. You don't pay 18+ millions for positive locker room influence only, if you produce this kind of numbers.

How some still can claim we lost that trade (or could have used Perk in this last series) is completely beyond me.

Even if Green as a cornerstone isn't the right player to rebuild on the fly, at least he is a very good complementary player and a useful trade chip, which you can't say of Kendrick Perkins anymore.

One thing you can say about Perk is that Doc would trust him enough to play him, even if his performance wouldn't merit the minutes.

Maybe some people believe the argument that Dirty Dwyane wouldn't have the stones to injure Rondo if he had fear of retribution from Perk.

Some do, and they're right.

I absolutely agree with this. I still believe to this day we would've beaten Miami in 2011 with Perk.

Well that's a convenient way to always think less of Jeff Green by virtue of a hypothetical situation that has no merit.

I think we would've beaten Miami in 2011 with Shaq.

Perk acts tough but have you ever seen him really go after a guy.  NBA rarely can fight.  They excel at posing and the like.  He might have intimidated him perhaps but I doubt it given the officiating they are used too.   Certain guys like Wade and Kobe can play dirty with no repercussions from the league because they have been marketed.

Kermit Washington was an exception but most NBA guys punch like a girl.

But dudes, Perk today is not better than Green, period.
