BTW, here's where we stand:

Quote
ESPNForsberg Chris Forsberg
by my count, C’s are around $71.4 million committed for 13 players (71.8 if pencil in Kris Joseph). Still competition for 15th spot in camp.

I feel pretty confident Forsberg's got the wrong numbers here.

My calculations have us @ 69.6m for 13 guaranteed players.  I'm betting the difference is in the numbers he has for KG, Green & Bass.

Very happy Dooling is coming back.

He doesn't add much basketball-wise, but you can't go wrong adding a strong lockeroom presence at the end of the roster.

Good signing - they need a fourth guard they can use out the gate while AB is out. He's bench depth after that - but he's a good fit and talent for the roster spot he'll take up.

KG / Collins / Melo
Bass / Wilcox / Sully
Pierce / Green / (Joseph)
Lee / injured-Bradley / (Christmas)
Rondo / Terry / Dooling

I'm guessing they sign Green once they decide on Joseph and Christmas. They should leave enough room under the apron to use BAE mid season as a bigger offer than vet min for a released guy.

I can't keep stressing how happy I am with this resigning. Dooling is going to solidify his role as the heart of this team within the view of Boston fans. I say this just because of his locker room presence which has been talked highly of and his eloquence. He reminds me of an older gentleman I play basketball with in a summer men's league in that he provides players with mentorship and veteran leadership.

Sure, KG will be working closely with Sully and Fab but that's not to say Rondo and Bradley still don't have a lot they can learn from Dooling. Throughout the season it was noted that Rondo and Dooling had become close, even to the point of Rondo giving Dooling shoes! Their closeness is exactly what they need in year two of Perk's absence and year one of Ray Allen removed. Rondo's my favorite player but let's be honest, he can be a head case but being a head case seems to work for the kid. He performs better on the national stage which is a quality many players don't have. With whatever existed between himself and Ray now gone from the locker room and replaced with the further presence of Dooling, we're about to watch some good things on the court.

Hopefully we can get Keyon to do this again.

Is there any wonder why Dooling quickly became Rondo's friend?  Common loathing for one Walter Ray Allen?

What an incredibly likeable roster from a C's fan perspective.  Heck, I'd like just about anyone if they wear Green, but this is a particularly likeable roster.  Not just that there are a lot of good character guys, but the feel is a great mix of young, medium, and older guys -- energy, work ethic, spunk, intelligence, leadership, experience, competitiveness, talent, potential.... it's all there!

Dooling's on the Tyronn Lue/Sam Cassell circuit to assistant coach.  All of them started out with "Speaks Fluent Rondo" on their resume.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Yep. Motivation is never going to be a problem with this team with guys like Doc, KG, JET and Keyon lighting a fire under everyone. Then you've got spark plugs like Bradley and Bass who will hustle and scrap to amp the team up. Going to be a really fun year.

Nice, TP

A minor signing, but really we desperatly needed another pure point.  Of all our guards, Rondo's really the only one.

Besides, someone needs to teach proper double fist pump technique to the rookies

Well put wish we had a little bit more nasty but thinking about it Collins from what I remember is just that, if I remember right he will not hesitate to foul you hard and put you on your butt. There's also ya know that guy KG hear he's not so nice ;D
