Dooling actually started to grow on me by the end of our season so I'm happy about this.

This.

And I love the his attitude and professionalism. He just seems like the type of guy teammates love and listen to; like no matter how big or small his on-court role is, his level of committment to the team and his teammate never changes.

Keyon could be the glue that pieces the puzzle back into a contender yet again

Why not just say Dooling? I was excited until I read other ppls reply that brought me back to reality it wasn't KENYON it was Keyon! Darn it! LOL  :P

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I'd have no problems bring him back.

Playing behind Terry in a 3rd string point guard role is the perfect role for him.

We were wrong to try and make him the backup last year.

Really happy with our guard rotation heading into this season. Dooling is the role model/teacher/still capable vet who fills a nice role surrounded by all the young guns. It's an exciting bunch and they all seem tailor made to compliment our talented point guard on both ends of the court.

Probably need another big or Christmas with the final roster spot, sorry Pietrus. Other than that, I'm ready for the games to start right now.

Happy to have Dooling back, but I'm thinking we should've said no to Christmas and Smith, and instead brought Pietrus back along with another big.

According to the Realgm User Jeff23, Keyon is going to come back for the veterans minimum.

Now before you criticize this guy because he could be just another user trying to stir up our hearts for nothing (like the vin baker guy who said Ray was coming back), I must tell you I've read this guy's posts before on realgm, and his "sources" have been correct before.

-He stated that Jeff Green wasn't getting 4/40 when it was reprted that Green was. In fact, he even said the figures were around 4/36, which were right on the mark. Or atleast they were right because he stated this before it had come out that Green had verbally agreed to a deal of 4 years, $36 million. We won't know what the details are now because Green's deal is apparently being delayed for some reason.

-He also stated Chris Wilcox was coming back for the veterans minimum days before Wilcox's deal was announced by the media.

Overall, this guy seems legit. And I couldn't be happier Keyon's going to be back to be our fifth guard. He's a great locker room presence and he brings defensive tenacity that this team likes. Now to fill out the last spot (which isn't going to be Christmas or Smith, no championship contender has 4 rookies. That being said I do hope Christmas finds a nice home in the league).

Peaches is who I want but he;s unrealistic because he's too good to just be a failsafe option in case this team has injuries. Marquis Daniels would be more realistic.
why would u say Christmas has no shot to make da team then clamor for Marquis Daniels? lol ima go out on da limb nd say Christmas WILL play spot minutes in da rotation nd im almost guarenteeing he'll make da team his ability to get to the line nd versatility will be used its no point for Quis when we have Christmas

Marquis isn't amazing or anything, but he can guard three positions, knows the Celtics system well, and also run the point in a pinch, so he's a hell of a utility belt to have on the team. I wouldn't take one of the rookies over 'Quis unless we first replaced what he brings to the team.

EDIT: why are there about a bajillion people viewing this thread? Is the fate of Keyon Dooling so interesting to 200+ people?

This is exactly how I feel as well.  Later in the season it seems like Dooling started playing a bit better and that cont into the playoffs.  Great guy to have for the min.  I wish that we could bring back more glue guys like KD.  MP and Marquis Daniels both had times where they stepped into a pressure situation and played well.

Sometimes I feel like MD kind of got the short end of the stick.  He got injured and then made a great comeback just to play, and then really didn't sniff the floor much the whole season.  Then when we get in trouble, Doc calls him up to get some minutes in the playoffs and he does ok.  It was too bad he couldn't have gotten some more minutes during the year.  I still think he is a decent player.  But all players need PT to get into a groove and be effective.

Dooling actually started to grow on me by the end of our season so I'm happy about this.
