Just because this is a Celtics site doesn't mean we need to leave our brains at the door.

He only stated that we as fans should give PP the benefit of the doubt....you don't have to leave your brain at the door to do that...
Why should I encourage my being a fan to distort my perceptions in such a way? I am the kind of fan who never boos his team and who is loud as hell when cheering at games. I am also the kind of fan who recognizes when we benefit from a bad call.

Because just as there might be some instances where there might be evidence that he has a bit of drama in him, there's just many more instances when he has shown he has been actually hurt, and later playing through it. So why in this particular instance, when he's clearly hurting from a stinger, an injury he has been working against for weeks now, suddenly we have to doubt that he was hurt at the moment and he was just doing it for the drama. It simply makes no sense to me, no matter how much anyone wants to reason it. This is what I mean about benefit of the doubt. I'm not saying you should close your eyes and your brain.

And we should give Sheed the benefit of the doubt on his effort and coachableness? I don't agree. There is no reason why being a fan requires us to set aside reason.

Where did that come from? How does Sheed playing with (or without) effort or being coachable (or not) coincide with whether Pierce took an injury "like a man" instead of like a "drama queen"? I think I also saw you bring up whether KG was being stupid when BudweiserCeltic, I believe, was clearly talking about Pierce. Did I miss something?

I'm sure Pierce's finals knee drama played a part.

I'll just respond to this. Prior to this, when has Pierce's toughness ever been questioned? It doesn't played a part, that's the entire basis of the "fans" around.
Like I said elsewhere, no one questions Pierce's ability to play through injury. It is the way he rolls around on the floor and the faces he makes that people are noticing.

"Fans"? I guess you hold the official opinions for Celtics fans. You are the arbiter for Celtics fan orthodoxy.

Celtics fans do not have to live in Fantasyland.

I don't get some of you guys. The guy has been dealing with shoulder injuries all year.  You can clearly see he got a stinger earlier in the play and then QBall pushed him into bench.

I think I'll stay in Fantasy land.

Please tell me most of you guys are Red Sox fans.  It would at least make some sense to me.

Seriously, guys.

Man Laws on how to take an injury like man. Now.

I'll print it and tape it on my dorm wall. Maybe it'll get me a girlfriend.

C'mon now....PP's reaction to an injury and Sheeds play and lack of effort are the same thing?

I just don't agree with calling Pierce a drama queen. Does that make me an over the top homer? I don't think so, because I think Rondo is actually more guilty of this. Rondo stays on the ground for extra time and you can kind of tell Doc feels the same way about him and puts him right back in when he has an issue. I'd put Pierce's toughness right on par with Bird.

I got no problem with what KG did. He's real intense and emotional as we all know playing at a high level.....and playing his HEART OUT like we expect and want KG to play. So be it a elbow was thrown clearing space for the fallen captain, it is what it is. No regrets.

I too am proud of the way KG and the Celtics are playing.

Not to answer a rhetorical point, but the only man law about injuries I was ever brought up to know was don't cry on the field, and if you can walk off before you start showing how hurt you really are, thats better. I've limped off the field with a torn mcl and lcl under my own power before I collapsed in a heap of pain and pads.

I'm embarrassed for PP quite honestly. The guy curls up in a fetal position on the floor of the other teams bench over his shoulder hurting?! If he tore an achilles, rolled an ankle bad, or something with his legs that prevented him from standing up then I can see it. Instead in the middle of the play he lays down and acts like he's dying which started this whole mess. I think Q Richardson is one of the biggest punks in the NBA, so it kills me to say this, but he is right.

"Sometimes (Pierce) falls like he’s about to be out for the season and then he gets right up."

How many times has PP done this and then magically he's back in the game and fine... Had he walked over to the bench and the trainer instead of laying down like a pansy then we'd have KG in this game and not be having this debate.

Sorry. Had to say it. Let the ripping begin!

We have a Laker Lover in our midst!

 ;D

The refs could (and should) haver prevented the whole situation. QR had no business over there. End of story, really.

Wow… That's just about as insulting a comment as there is! Uncalled for really.  ;D

It doesn't change the fact he acts this way. QR didn't have any business going over there and deserved to be elbowed, however it doesn't mean his comment wasn't accurate.

I'm not really mad that KG was suspended. I am mad that the refs did not do their jobs properly in the first place and that several Heat players were clearly let off the hook, subsequently. Like I said, they (the NBA) should've let it go or they should have taken (further) action against several players.
