This is seriously getting blown out of proportion. It all started when Rondo and Paul had momentum together going underneath the basket on a play away from the ball. CP3 hung onto Rondo and Rondo then proceeded to fling CP3 off of him. CP3 fell into the camera guy and got ****ed. The two then had some words for each other. CP3 probably said something along the lines of "do you know who I am?" and Rondo probably responded with "yeah, NOT an NBA champion". Rondo isn't backing down from ANYBODY and that's something I love. After that CP3 went on to hog the ball, hoist a lot of jumpers (that all seemed to go in), but inevitably lost the game ;D I don't care what anybody says Rondo got into CP3's head and it helped the Celtics get the win. Rondo didn't go out of his way to instigate anything.

yep my view on how it went down
eta raj and cp3 trashtalking in last seconds of the game was interrupted by cp3 running off to take the ball across halfcourt so when cp3 went to tattle to the truth raj came over to finish the conversation but was pulled away by sugar ray ... cp3 tried to follow him ... what was he plannign to do outnumbered 1-12 when he got to the lockerroom
great fanfic idea

What I am wondering is what was the Celtics assistant coach, the big man asst. coach, was saying to him afterwards.  It doesn't look like he's saying nice things.  It looks like he's saying, "you don't wanna mess with us, we will mess you up!"

lol...Clifford Ray is a baddddd mother shut yo mouth.

TP for the visual of Clifford Ray as Shaft.  I feel a blaxploitation PhotoShop job coming on with Clifford "Roundtree" Ray as the star.

I thought too that Clifford Ray was shouting some loud things in CP3's ears. But Chris clarifies the situation on his Twitter : "where thats coming from...also me n coach Thibodeau never got in a shouting match, we talked...2 much respect for him, crazy how its twisted"

I didn't notice Paul arguing with Thibs, but it seems that it's getting blown out of proportion.

There's no way of getting around the fact that Rondo has character issues.

He's a hothead who alienates opponents and teammates alike.

Not the best qualities in your point guard of the future.

When exactly has Rondo ever alienated teammates?  I know Doc talked about some issue his rookie year, but when exactly in the past three years has he alienated this crew?

As for opponents, who cares?  People tend to romanticize the past way too much in forget what ****s the likes of Larry Bird and Bill Russell could be to opponents.  And it's not like KG, Perk, and Rasheed are exactly beloved by the rest of the NBA either.

like i said in the byron scott thread about the rondo/cp3 incident......rondo is the one handling himself more professionally.  he has kept his mouth shut in an attempt to let it blow over, while cp3 has continued to discuss/complain about it.  not bad for a young guy with "character issues".

In fairness to the argument, Chris Paul often acts like a jerk.  He postures.  He struts.  He throws himself onto the floor and laughs when he gets the free throws anyway.  So he's not exactly deserving of respect.

If you want evidence of Rondo alienating teammates, look no farther than last year's playoffs against the Bulls.  There were complaints about him being too much of a loner and he was popping off in the press about how it didn't matter what he did before the game or when he showed up.  His ego does get in the way when he loses his cool.  I'm just saying that's not the mark of a great point guard leader.  He doesn't have to be a leader now while the veterans are in place, but it's hard to see anyone wanting to follow this guy.

Maybe.  But when you hear stories about players like Michael Jordan tearing teammates to shreds, you realize that players don't have to be the nicest, friendliest teammates to be great players.  Plus, he certainly doesn't act like that when KG is around.  And speaking of KG, he made Big Baby cry last year, and no one is whining about that.

I wouldn't worry about it.

He's playing basketball, not running for president. I for one am a fan of his aggressive attitude.

Exactly.. He isn't trying to win over hearts, he's trying to win basketball games. I'd be willing to bet any other personality would crumble trying to manage that three headed ego monster in KG, Ray and Paul Pierce. He's done a great job handling the team so far in his career.

Rondo: “I’ve got a ring, and you’re never gonna win one.”

Paul: "you might be right, but as long as I'm here, you'll never be in Team USA"

Yeah, this is ridiculous.  He's a basketball player, not a social worker.

As for his comments, he's probably right: Chris Paul probably won't ever win a championship.

I've always thought that the whole "I got a ring and you don't" crap was pure jackassness. And Rondo hasn't been the only one doing this. Various teams have thrown complaints around singing the same story.

If you want to trash talk, trash talk... but the whole ring bit is just completely lame.

He just told the truth. As long as CP3 is a Hornet he'll never win a ring. I'm from Charlotte and know the Hornets well so trust me on this one.

But I'm ok with that. I think CP3 is a jerk. And I hate that fake nice guy smile.
