What are you're thoughts on the Boston/KG trade?

Not a fan.  Would rather have seen one more season with PP, KG, and Co.

I like keeping Rondo, because he will miss half the season or more next year anyways, which will really help us tank while simultaneously letting us end on a high note.  He is a great piece and I would expect him to be decent in 2015.

My biggest problem with this trade is that the Hawks can switch into that 2014 pick, so I can't even root for the Nets to fail next year.  Can someone explain to me how that works, though?  How can they give up their 2014 (us/Hawks), 2015 (us/Hawks) and 2016 (us) picks in a row like that?  I thought that was against the rules

I love the trade.

The sooner the Celts dealt the old guys, the sooner they get back to being a contender again.

If the Celts brought back KG/Pierce, they'd be lucky to be an 8th seed and would be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs again.

A+

1) Ainge got a great deal;

2) No other team in their right mind would ever even THINK of giving the Cs what the Nets did for PP and KG. Ainge (IMO) well exceeded overall market value, and took advantage of a loose owner and a terrible GM;

3) Ainge kept his word to use his players (not to mention his coach) as assets when the right time came;

4) Ainge sent two Cs legends -- together no less -- to a terrific situation both personally and professionally.

Great work, Danny.

Nets should get creative on deepening their bench and prepping for playoff match ups.

Sebastian Telfair: vet min, still young, back up PG, BK native

Tony Allen: MLE, LLE, whatever they got. great defender for Wade/LeBron, etc. Former Celtic to toughen up squad more.

3 pt specialist. Needed big time. Maybe Korver if they can wiggle him in?

You can't have consecutive future drafts without a first round pick, but it doesn't have to be your own pick.

The Clippers won't have a pick in 2014 or 2016, but they will have a pick in 2015;  they just don't know yet if it will be their own pick or the Hawks pick.

And you can root for the Nets to fail next year.  You just have to also root for the Hawks to do slightly worse.  The Hawks only swap picks if they have a better record than the Nets.  Well, unless they are stupid and want to move down in the draft for no reason.

The Nets are supposedly hoping to use the mini-MLE to bring in Croatian Bogdan Bogdanovic.  Their payroll is too high to use the LLE.  So, they're probably stuck filling out their bench with minimum-salary guys.
