With the Landlord and probably Baby in the fold, Scal will never see the court..

Maybe Scal is the back up PG, he's been right under our noses all along.

LOL, Seriously Scal will only see the court in the event of a serious injury to a key big, which probably means we're not winning a title anyway. Scal's role is gone..
Scal is currently our 4th big dude.  Even if Davis comes back Scal will see some minutes covering men that are too fast for him.  He'll probably have some DNPs, but to say his role is gone is crazy.  Plus, Davis and Perk are known for getting in foul trouble rather quickly.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

one duke loser on the roster is more than enough. still coming to terms that waste of flesh sheldon williams will be wearing the celtic green next year.

I guess you dont like the idea of adding a Shane Battier or Carlos Boozer either if we have a chance in the future? I think Chris Duhon is a decent backup PG behind Rondo. I dont care for the salary, but to be fair it is a nice piece of expiring if he doesnt work out isnt it?

so this is more an anti duke thing than the actual player related?

because when he got time his first year, he actually played very well defensively. His offensive game is limited to put backs and such, but he's a heck of a rebounder/ 48.

He's a fine choice as emergency back up big man.

Can Duhon guard the 2?  I think that would be the perfect backup is a PG that can guard the 2 to allow House to be on the floor at the same time.  Daniels fits that role somewhat but Duhon is a pure point.

Duhon really shouldn't be guarding SGs in the NBA.

The key is making sure he doesn't have to take so many jumpers if/when he plays.

Still for a big man to shoot less than 50% inside is disturbing. Oh well, you can't expect complete players for the minimum!

S.W. still averaged a double double per 40 minutes and had a PER of 13, so he's a solid guy to have as 4th or 5th.  Add his age to the equation and he's a great pickup for the minimum.

Agreed, but averaging a double double per/40 isn't impressive in the least. He's not going to be getting 40 minutes. He is what he is, a good defender/rebounder and a very bad offensive player.

I'm very happy we signed him though.

Is Jannero Pargo still available?  Is he still playing in Europe?  He would be a great pickup for the LLE...
He signed with the Bulls.

I never liked Pargo, too much of a chucker. True shooting of .478, which is awful.

If he's not hitting he'll shoot you right out of a game if you let him. I'd rather have Eddie in that role. Eddie doesn't take as many difficult shots. Eddie's true shooting is .507 for the career and .563 with the Celtics.
