I apologize for using the word worst, I'm gonna get a lot of hate for that.
But how many Centers can you say are as good as Perkins? Be honest, Perkins is more dominant in his position. Rondo is in the same league as over half of the other PGs in the league, several of which are unarguably better.
Look at it this way: if we put in a mediocre back-up Center against most teams, he'd be able to hold his own. If we put in a mediocre PG against most teams, there's a good chance it could kill us. I'm not saying we have to go after Andre Miller, but we'd be A LOT better off if we had a guy at least as good as Marbury.
Lets throw some numbers in. Rondo 4th among PG in steals.
6th in Assists not counting Arenas short season. 52 in scoring among both guard positions. 3rd in point guards in boards per game.
Perk 13th in boards among centers. 5th in blocks. 26th in scoring.
I mean don't make me choose who I think is better. But Rondo is. For sure. I love perk to death, but it's Rondo. Did anybody see the Playoffs?
Rondo is the better player, but I don't think it's wise to use the playoffs as the reason for it. Perk was awesome this past playoffs, and he does something that Rondo doesn't do, and that's being excellent defensively. He really was our most consistent player during the playoffs, he did what he had to do night in and night out. Everyone else was up and down, and even though Rondo was completely special against Chicago, he wasn't good against Orlando.
So, using the playoffs for your argument might not be the best thing to use.
