With the recent outage and Byennie?s sobering post, I?m wondering if it?s ok with the moderators if we have a thread to address how to sustain the blog?  I don?t think there are too many options to consider, and Byennie laid out a few, but maybe this thread can reveal the support that posters and lurkers have for keeping this going. And what we are willing to contribute to support it.

NG?thank you for the thought.  Working on some fact and idea gathering behind the scenes with Byennie.  Rest assured once we have a plan the community will be leaned upon heavily for input and support if we are to keep this train rolling.

For now let?s hold off on ideas.

I promise I?ll keep you posted.

Yup

Haven?t posted in a long time but last week once again made me realize how often I click on this site and I missed it when it was down.

Not sure if it would be enough to keep the lights on, but I know I?d be able to allocate a small contribution through Patreon every month.

If the burden is truly a financial one, I (and presumably many others) would be happy to pitch in some funds. I've been lurking and posting on these forums since I was 13 years old. I am very much not a teenager anymore

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Thank you Redz and Byennie for all your support.  These past few days were difficult without CelticStrong to read and post.  Good luck.

Maybe the short term option is to start a go fund me page since it seems like quite a few of us would contribute.  This would keep the site up and running while a long term option is worked out.  The long term option is to find a Boston based sponsor showing them data points on how much traffic this site gets.  I don't know if anyone here does a podcast but adding in their sponsorship to a podcast could also help entice a company.

Does anyone on here have any contacts with any local Dunkins or Honey Dew locations?

Agreed. I'd be willing to contribute if it comes down to that.

I do use and love Reddit, Celticsblog, etc. but these forums have been like a second home for me the past decade and I love interacting and engaging with everyone here  :)

We'll let Redz, Byennie, and the mods discuss and come up with something in the meantime
