How is Keith Smith and others calculating Amari Williams's pro-rated salary of $490,128 ??

Cs have 31 games left    divided by 82 total games   multiplied by rookie min salary of 1,272,870    = 481,207

If you use 32 games it comes out to 496,730

Sorry for being such a nerd, but what am I missing...

It's based upon calendar days rather than games left, I think.

Contracts are prorated for days, not games.  There are 174 days in the season, and I believe there are 67 days left effective yesterday.

So what was that $387K number that was being bounced around in the other thread?

That?s the prorated salary for two weeks from now, by when the Celtics will have to get back up to 14 players (they are at 12).

Since Vuc is on an expiring contract, C's did not acquire his Bird rights. And since you can't use a TPE to sign a UFA, is the only way to resign Vuc this summer is be using the non-tax payer MLE?  Do I have this right???

BTW Real GM is estimating non tax MLE to be $15,139,000.

The bolded is incorrect. There are specific situations where Bird rights don't transfer in a trade (RFAs who signed Qualifying Offers, early Bird rights) but for the most part if the team trading a player has Bird rights, the Bird rights transfer with them (and that's the case here).

Also, even without Bird rights we would be able to sign Vuc for up to 120% of his current salary, which is in the $25 million range and way more than he would get in FA (but, again, we do have his Bird rights). We'll be able to re-sign him no problem if we want to (and we should).
I'm bitter.

Thank you!

So the non tax MLE threshold of $15,139,000 would pertain to signing other UFA, say Anf Simmons for example, since we have no cap space?
