How is Keith Smith and others calculating Amari Williams's pro-rated salary of $490,128 ??

Cs have 31 games left    divided by 82 total games   multiplied by rookie min salary of 1,272,870    = 481,207

If you use 32 games it comes out to 496,730

Sorry for being such a nerd, but what am I missing...

It's based upon calendar days rather than games left, I think.

Contracts are prorated for days, not games.  There are 174 days in the season, and I believe there are 67 days left effective yesterday.

So what was that $387K number that was being bounced around in the other thread?

That?s the prorated salary for two weeks from now, by when the Celtics will have to get back up to 14 players (they are at 12).
