I was at the game last night, there was a decent amount of Miami "fans" at the Garden. Probably a lot of bandwagon hold overs from the Lebron years.
He was definitely treated far better here than he deserved. I don't understand the idea that Celtics fans should be celebrating him. He intentionally injured one of our best players in a playoff series and as great a player as he was, he was the dirtiest player in the NBA for years.
I fell like there's also a bit of revisionist history going on as well. He was a very, very, very good player, but he's not an all time great. He's not up there with the recent celebrants Duncan, Kobe, IMO Dirk. Honestly, he's probably more on par with our guy, Paul Pierce. Are they top 50 all time, definitely, but you'd be crazy to name them as a legend of the league.
