Wyc has given Brad the seal of approval.

But on Thursday, speaking with the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck expressed continued confidence in Stevens.

"Brad would be my top choice to coach the team -- if we were doing a search right now, he would be the hands-down winner,” Grousbeck told Himmelsbach. “I can’t be more impressed with Brad. He’s hung in there through ups and downs this year and he coaches basically 24/7 to an extremely high level. I’m very glad he’s a Celtic.

“The only criticism that matters comes from inside the organization, and he’s not experiencing any of that.”

This might disappoint those who were hoping for Brad to be replaced by Stan Van Gundy, Frank Vogel or Mike Brown, but it looks like Brad will be given another season to make amends.

Oh god, that coach list is dreadful. For all of his shortcommings this year, I'm glad we have brad instead of Mike Brown lol.

They were the only ones nominated as possible replacements for Brad on this thread

Yeah, I know. I'm saying that all of the coaches out there right now are garbage.

Thank God, some sanity. Ainge and Wyc love Stevens and Wyc is right about doing a search and coming up with Stevens. ALL(except LAL because LeBron)NBA teams that were looking for a coach right now would come up as Stevens being their top guy to hire if he was available. He was literally named NBA's best coach by the same people who would be doing the hiring, the NBA's 30 GMs, before the season started.

Good to know Brad will be the Celtics head coach for a while.

Ugh, guess I'm gonna have to deal with more small-ball 3-point chucking/shooting, lack of big men and rebounding, and season disappointments for another season.  :(

Can anyone nominate other candidates to replace Brad not named Vogel, Brown or Van Gundy (either one). Phil Jackson resurrected?

What you are asking him to display to the fans is something you will never see. His public persona is that of quiet confidence and giving and getting respect equally. He will not lash out publically at a player. He doesn't do any discipline publically.

What you see is what you will get with him. The differences will be seen in wins and losses and team play.

I've been highly critical of Brad this season.  But I'm still glad he's our coach and that he'll be here next year.  We could do a lot worse.  Like Stan Van Gundy worse.  And Brad is still young and he's still learning.  He'll get better.

That said Brad could certainly have done a better job this season.  That's a common armchair fan-coach perspective that happens with all spots teams.  The playoffs will be interesting, and a better indicator of what he does with a (very) talented roster when it really counts.

Stevens has made some adjustments to his rotations, which a lot of us have been asking for a long time.
It's not perfect yet, but I like finally watching Horford and Baynes together.
Rozier and Morris their minutes somewhat limited.
And Brown being in the closing line-up.

It gives me some belief that Stevens has some new tricks on his sleeve for the playoffs.
