I will assume that Davis deal will not be made, as that is a huge gamble to take on a hope that he stays.

IS Terry Resigned?
Is Morris Resigned?
Is Hayward shopped?
Does Horford opt out?
Does Horford Extend?

What are your takes on if the offseason goes south?

IS Terry Resigned? --- Not unless the price is right. ("right" for me would be less than 4 years, less than $12 million per year)
Is Morris Resigned? --- No.
Is Hayward shopped? --- Danny's always shopping everybody.  My guess is nobody bites based on what we've seen so far.
Does Horford opt out? --- Yes.
Does Horford Extend? --- I think he will. (Question is for how much ... ideal IMO would be 4 years, $80 million or so.

What are your takes on if the offseason goes south?

If Kyrie leaves that changes the timeline for the team.  The ceiling would be lowered in the short term, though probably not any lower than it's been this season.

I expect that if Kyrie leaves the team focuses on extending Horford and finding a reliable, cost-effective replacement in free agency, which probably will not be Terry Rozier.

The interesting decision point here will be the draft.  If they aren't able to pull off a trade for AD at draft time, that means they'll probably be using a bunch of picks.  That would mean the roster becomes even younger; that combined with no AD would make Kyrie leaving seem far more likely.

In that scenario, we're looking at a very young team led by Smart, Horford, Hayward, Tatum, and Brown.

I'd be fine with that scenario.  It's got to be more fun than what this year has been.

With that said, if things fall apart re: AD trade discussions, I wouldn't be surprised to see Danny turn around and try to trade for Bradley Beal.  But, as good as Beal has been, I think it'd be fair to wonder if he's worth surrendering a major haul.

It is, but admittedly it's where my head is already at re: this team.

Me too, with all the chatter about him possibly not staying, etc.

If Kyrie walks, I would still trade for Davis and then go after Kemba Walker in free agency.

It would have to be a trade. Cause there would be no capspace

Pray the kids pan out.

This I think is arguably a great course to take.

Snagging a young pg and pf in the draft as well.

Let Hayward amd Horford keep team winning while the young kids bloom.

If he leaves the plan is the same.
Winning the title, like we won 17 without him.

unfortunately we could end up with a scenario where Kyrie walks after weve already traded for Davis.  Danny needs to be careful.

if no trade is made, I worry about drafting a bunch more young guys, especially after having a season where people have supposedly already been grumbling about 'getting their shot'

If we dont land Davis, I think Danny works his butt off to find a good home for some of these picks and consolidate the roster a bit.

Danny would probably match $12 million per year for Terry unless there is better value for an equivalent or better PG.  For all of his flaws, Terry would provide a stable presence for the next year or two.  His contract would also be relatively easy to move if a big trade presented itself.

I agree with you on everything else.

If Kyrie walks go after Kemba. I would let Rozier and Morris walk.  Draft another G and PF and C.

I think the big question regarding a summer where Kyrie leaves is: what to do with the draft picks?

With the potential for 4 draft picks coming and none in the top 8, what would the Celtics be looking to do? Stock up on mediocre youngsters, consolidate the picks for a higher pick (that would still likely not be great), or see what can be gotten on the trade market?
