Do not waste one asset on AD. Build with the young guys.

I expect Rozier will be the starting PG next season. I also think they make most of their picks.

Mods please merge this, also weird subject line. Story has nothing to do with the jays

The 2nd part is my own opinion, after the semi-colon. I've seen others make thread titles like this, what's wrong with it?

It’s a lot better to just share the news story, and then put your opinion on it in your post. The way it is written, it implies this is part of the news (and it is just a clunky title (Potter had the same reaction and I agree with him. If everyone added their opinion to the subject line of news it would be a complete mess

I hope at the least Kyrie gives Ainge some sort of head's up that this is his decision. This way Ainge knows which direction to go.

Without Kyrie I don't believe we can contend, unless we get Davis for a small package.

I am not prepared to see a ton go out for a guy that is not staying here....esp with no Kyrie. Next year Boston would have be up the creek.

Not directed at the OP but can we please stop with the Jays reference? There are still other ways to build a good team. We are going nowhere if our best players are Tatum and Brown.

Hayward has to return to form. And I am afraid Rozier will be the starting PG next season.

Also am not sure what they can get for some of the picks to help out vet wise.

I mean, that's the thing - I don't think he's completely ruled us out yet even if we're not his first option. That's why he's not going to say anything to Danny about not resigning, because he wants as many options as possible if the Nets thing doesn't work out.

It's understandable from his perspective, but it does kind of screw us a bit and forces us to make a judgment call on AD.

Yeah, bugger it, I've resigned myself to the fact that he's a goner. I think watching the Jays + Hayward have 15-20 shots a game each could be a good base for a fun season to watch though.

Plus 4 first round picks I can overvalue!

I think Rubio would be the perfect fit for this team. Yes, obvious downgrade from Kyrie, but he can help generate shots for others and be a floor general. Also I don't think he'd cost an enormous amount (MLE?).

While he doesn't score as well as Irving, I think he's better every wheres else including D. Utah even brought him in to play with Hayward. While Rubio looks worse on paper, on the court be could be better.

Maybe bundle the picks to move up or for an established player.

Yup because Kyrie is the only player in the NBA. The entire league only has one player

I think Danny's gonna go after AD whether or not Kyrie is coming back.

Smart - Brown - Hayward - Davis - Horford

That team plus the right supporting pieces could be a heck of a defensive team.  If Hayward gets anywhere close to where he was in Utah, maybe they have enough shot making to be a real threat in the East.

Anyway, I think Ainge is going for it.  He didn't come this far just to give up because Kyrie turned out to be a sourpuss weirdo.

If Smart is the starting PG...we are in trouble.

How about we let the mods do the moderating and not lecture excellent posters on how to write thread titles or posts.

If Irving is actually out, I think Tatum gets put on the table which could tip the scales for Boston.

I'd still go after Rubio, and have Smart and Rozier lead the bench.
