So with Kyrie leaving, why is the team imploding? If Kyrie was the sole bad egg, shouldn't guys be presumably happy to come back?

The only poison here is Gordon's leg. That killed our title hopes last season and his return killed our title hopes this season.

Gordon's injury was devastating, but you're delusional if you're trying to make the case Kyrie isn't poison.

I think solely blaming a single injury and blaming a single player are both bad ways to go about it. Danny assembled a team of guys who don’t get along on the court and off, Brad mismanaged those guys, and we suffered two huge injury blows which added fuel to the fire.

That being said, Kyrie sucked, and I was definitely guilty of looking past it

Yeah, I think there’s a lot of blame to go around - from Hayward’s ankle to the young guys’ big heads to Danny’s hoarding of assets to Brad’s mismanagement of talent and egos - but Kyrie’s poor leadership has to be up there as one of the biggest issues with the team.

After all that has come out about him this past year, I’m starting to see why Brad had such a hard time with these guys, as Kyrie was just as difficult to manage as the young’uns.

My guess is that the vibe this year was toxic and everybody was miserable, and that the impetus was Kyrie's attempts at leadership. As I was not there, I do not know for sure. But looking at the arc of announcements and later reports, I feel like it was Kyrie. If I'm wrong, then it just seems like Kyrie couldn't handle a pouty backup pg in Rozier. I think the likelier scenario was Kyrie rubbing teammates the wrong way, which spread into dysfunction and unhappiness, culminating in Kyrie ghosting the team, Rozier burning bridges, Al unwilling to sacrifice after all that, etc.

Irving has been communicative and forthright with top Celtics officials since the season ended, with private and public signals that he will leave the organization in free agency — likely for the Brooklyn Nets, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

What Kyrie considers signals and what normal people consider signals are likely very different.

Not sure if it was the full intent, but this post gave me a much needed laugh on this gut-punch of an evening.  TP.

Anyone else notice how Kyrie only passed to certain teammates. Horford, Tatum, Morris got by far the most passes. Smart would get some. He would go several games without passing to Jaylen.

Remember how he complained about how Brad should have given him help defending Kemba. How about stepping up?

Remember how he kept complaining about not having enough veterans and how he had to show the young players how to compete in the NBA?

Remember how Terry Rozier dominated Bledsoe last year in the playoffs and how Bledsoe looked like an All-Star against Kyrie this year in the playoffs?

Kyrie was the cancer. I am so glad he is going to be gone.

I happen to agree with Jackie Mac on this one:

It's obvious players thought Brad was playing favorites with Gordon and true or not, it didn't sit well.

I thought I was the only one that saw that, thus I thought I was imagining it.

Kyrie was the cancer. I am so glad he is going to be gone.

Terry Rozier only looked good in that series because the Bucks were still premature. He then got too self-absorbed into the "Scary Terry" train that he eventually flamed out. Bledsoe and Hill dominated Rozier this year, what happened to that.

Rozier was the malcontent, he needs to go.

And the other the perfect anti-Celtic.

But hey, I’m just guessing.

I think if Kyrie leaves, he is going to have a worse reputation return here in Boston than how Ray Allen left for Miami.
