not sure how they would do a trade for capella tho.   Smart works straight up,  but that doesn't seem helpful.

Yeah that's true. A Hayward+Smart for Paul+Capela+picks deal?

It could be multiple firsts, which would be pretty good value for us.

Well if you’re going to believe the report you’re going to have to believe the FULL report. No where did it mention Paul, if Paul was involved in the trades it would have been highlighted. What was in the report was Rozier. You should know that Rozier wants to be a starter, so if Celtics are talking options for Rozier he would be the starter with Capela. I’ve been telling people for a while Smart will get traded no matter what. If we go young, make small tweaks, or big tweaks smart will get traded. He’s literally the best trade asset Danny has. Smarting being 1St team all defense helped that out a lot.

to be fair,  the guy was just saying on his twitter feed that this is a scenario the celtics have looked in to.   they also have talked about an AD trade,  but he thinks it's unlikely with kyrie leaving.

If we trade for Capela this will be the beginning of a huge setback. I just don’t see Capela has an improvement to any form of a roster that we have. If we give Time Lord minuets we would have our own Capela. I’d rather have Javale McGee than Capela. I really don’t think y’all know how bad Capela is 😂

The Celtics from what I have heard engaged pretty seriously on Clint Capella... have had some level of talks with Terry Rozier on a new deal. Everything is very fluid at this stage in the draft/trade process. It's finding out what you can do.
Don't see why we'd want Capela.  He doesn't shoot 3s and his offense is driven by Harden PnRs.  He's costly from a salary cap standpoint and what it would take to trade for him.  I'd be looking at better fit and cheaper options like Dedmon or B. Lopez.

Please gawd no, not Capela 😢

Capela is not tye worst name listed there.

Terry is absolute trash.

And if no moves are made....and Kyrie does not return....why on earth woupd you start terry over either Brown or Smart? Cause one of those 2 will most likely have to go to the bench to give the martyr terry rozier what he deserves.

Honestly the team can draft NAW and have a better player, who is a better fit, on a far cheaper contract

He was a 16/12 guy this season. As long as he can put in buckets and rebound, perfect.

You get Capela because he’s a good albeit limited player who fits the Jays timeline and isn’t a wing.

It’s that simple I think. If you lose Irving and miss out on davis the priority becomes acquiring as much ball handler, swing and big man talent as possible on their timeline. Capela looks like he’s one of the better value propositions out there at the moment.

Capela makes no sense to me. Willliams is Capela in another year. Plus the salary you have to give up to get Capela. Smart?  That would be horrible trade off.

A 3-way could make sense, I guess.

Boston trades Tatum, Smart, picks, filler
Boston receives Davis

Houston trades Capela
Houston receives Smart

New Orleans trades Davis
New Orleans receives Tatum, Capela, picks

It wouldn’t make a lot of sense for Houston unless they had other moves lined up, though.

We don't know what Williams is going to be. We hope that he will develop, but he's still very young and raw. Capela is a known quantity and if all it costs us is Rozier, it's a good deal.
