Obviously you haven't been on other teams sites. This is mild. Most here are just mad, bewildered about why this team had been bipolar all season. Its expected with the expectations the team had. No one could've guessed a 5th seed with no major injuries.

We have had a number of injuries, Kyrie, Horford, Baynes, etc...

I wish this team had more of a “us against the world” / “rally around the family” vibe.

I guess this is what happens when you have 15 CEOs of 15 individual entities, perhaps.  But come on, how about a little “Patriots’ Way”?

I think most people that have done anything competitive would consider losing to encompass an abundance of feelings & emotions.  "Toxic" certainly being one of those descriptions.   And he's right about it being up to the entire team to turn it around.

Quote
"To be honest, I'm not feeling good at all," Brown said about the current state of the Celtics, via CBS Boston. "The losing, it's not a good feeling. I'm not too good about that. Because right now it's not good. It's toxic. I can't really point out one thing. I don't have all the answers. I'm just going to try to be part of the change. I'm going to try to do my best. That's all I've got to say."

Brown went on to say that it's up to the entire team to turn things around if they want to avoid an early postseason exit and make the type of run they did this past postseason, despite the fact they were without the services of both Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving.

"I just try to come out and play hard and hopefully that sparks some [change]. But it's not just up to one person," Brown said. "It's up to the whole group. Everybody has to be on page. If one person's not on page, it's going to affect the whole group. I just try to come out and play hard and see where that leaves me."

Yep. Everything he said makes total sense. This thread is clickbait.

This forum is toxic. There seems to be waaay more negativity and complaining about a team going to the playoffs as a 5th seed. When some franchises would be thrilled just to make the playoffs: Kings, Knicks, Hornets, Suns, Magic, ...........Lebron lol

Yes the team has been disappointing but they are still a very good team that STILL has potential to  be champs.

There's always toxicity in fan forums, just comes with the territory. It's the perfect medium for it - people talking about things that elicit a lot of emotion and passion and it's not face to face, you don't get to see nonverbal cues, etc. But it's worse this year because the disappointment and frustration is always greater if the team fails to meet expectations. If you look at the Philly forums there's a lot of frustration because they're "only" fourth. Or look at the Lakersground forum, there's a lot of toxicity and frustration compared to last year because they expected to be much better with LeBum and they aren't, even though they will probably finish in the same spot...out of the playoffs.

Then if you check the Charlotte Hornets or Brooklyn Nets forums, they're both below us in the standings, but there's much less negativity there than there is here. Or even check tanking teams (Atlanta) there's not as much negativity because those fans have reconciled themselves to the fact that their team sucks so they try to focus on the few bright points (e.g. Trae Young). We're the opposite...we tend to focus on the dark spots because based on our expectations the dark spots shouldn't be there.

In a season of missed expectations, it's hard for some people to try to find the silver lining (as RoyH suggested with his Hayward post). I just try to keep in mind that no matter how bad it gets here, the Lakers have it worse right now  ;D

Maybe that comes in the playoffs... though I think it might require us giving some guys DNPs and choosing our key guys in a proper hierarchy.

I guess there's still time for guys to get injured.  Hopefully it's not Kyrie or Tatum... we need both of those guys playing peak ball for us to go anywhere in these playoffs.

Jaylen Brown himself just liked an instagram post calling out the bad faith clickbait journalism taking his quotes out of context:  https://twitter.com/softcoredancing/status/1103103824498180096

Red Sox sorta had that vibe last season and they won the World Series.

Maybe this sort of media misrepresentation thing is exactly what the team needs to be brought together. They can unify against media speculation and prove the media wrong.

I mean Ainge and Brad have clearly pulled an anti-Belichick by force feeding an inferior player (Hayward) minutes all season long.  Of course that was going to divide the locker room...

Did Hayward sleep with your wife or something??

Honestly, it starts with Brad Stevens and he is doing a TERRIBLE job managing this locker room (aside from his horrible drawing schemes).

This team looks checked out and ready to get bounced in the second round
