Think with your head, not with your heart.

Meaning he wouldn't get along with the system? Or should I say "decisions" because that's the only grey area I see.

And man...Rondo has ALWAYS been underrated by everyone in the entire country.

I would give him 10 mill next year to lead these guys, and I see them busting their ass for him.

Rondo WILL use this teams strengths.

Exactly, that is my thinking as well. We dont need anymore scoring. We need more IQ. Could you imagine Smart and Rondo creating havoc....while also shooting bricks. LOL

My point is he brings great qualities to a team...he gives them what they need. Remember he almost orchestrated a major upset vs Bulls 2 yrs ago until he got hurt.

And what is that?

He will use the teams strengths, he's a wily Vet, still has his quickness, been to the final multiple times while leading headstrong superstars, has seen every offense and defense....

I could go on and on...

He truly loved the place to...Danny should put on his diplomacy hat because I don't think you would have to bog the team down in another long contract to get him.

And he wouldn't have to learn being a leader...he's been one for years now.

I'm one of the hugest Rondo supporters, but this far from it.

He has definitely lost his quickness, and lateral speed.

I've been thinking about Rondo on this team. He's be great on the second unit, but I'm not sure he's ready to accept a role like that yet. What this team needs is someone who is looking for his teammates rather than looking for shots.

I think Ainge is still really high on him. He's had a lot of good things to say about him in recent interviews.

I would remind everyone that Rondo was picking the Celts apart in the playoffs 2 years ago until he broke his thumb. We had no answer for him and probably would have been bounced in the first round if he hadn't got hurt.

He needs to come off the bench .  He plays too little defense anymore.

I meant in a way that he can still be effective...but it's what this entire team can gain from his presence.

Doesn't mean you have to part with Kyrie either, because if they use Kyrie as a killer at the 2 spot, most of my arguments against him goes away.

Plus, we kinda had that problem with IT, and the man was alright with me :)

Or a killer at the 1 spot. Doesn't matter if you have someone else to direct traffic.

Rondo still doesn’t play defense most games.

He is a better passer than Kyrie, and he probably has better instincts regarding how to get a slumping teammate going. But ultimately, you’re left with a player who doesn’t play defense, is below average as a score, who isn’t much of a leader, and who is prickly with the media.  Plus, I think he wore out his welcome with CBS.

I’m not seeing the upgrade.

Bingo.

And if a team is on the slide in the regular season, Rondo isn’t the first guy I’d choose to lead a turnaround.

Someone above said he’s like a skinnier Marcus Smart. Yes, in that he doesn’t need to score and has had trouble shooting. Absolutely not when it comes to giving consistent energy on defense.

Rondo is still playing at a fairly high level.  He is a decent player, in the Marcus Smart range perhaps.  I don't see him and Kyrie co-exisitng though.  Rondo still pounds the ball and looks for the perfect pass too much.  Better to just move the ball, keep the ball moving.

I enjoy Rondo a lot more from afar, thanks.

Well, we're gonna need a true point from somewhere because Kyrie is a scorer.

I also wonder why Brad doesn't use Tatum as a better version of Turner. I wasn't watching then but he looked tough in the highlights

They still need toughness, intelligence and better ball management on the floor.

And if you take the ball out his hands except for scoring, then people are not standing around and strengths can be used.

No...

he will be retiring or play overseas...not many teams will need his services.
