This is a lifeless team because the leader doesn't know what it takes to lead people. It's always about him and his mood.
I remember Bill Russell talking about leadership and the difference of taking people with you vs dragging them with you. Enabling them and creating a team environment vs making it all about yourself.
Kyrie drags his teammates with you. Tries to pull them up. A lot of players do that. Kobe Bryant did that. Kyrie is in the same mold as Kobe in terms of leadership. Both players try to take over and score lots of points by themselves whenever something isn't going right.
When it works, Kyrie gets lots of attention because he has scored a lot of points and dragged his team to victory. When it fails, well it fails. He tried his best and rarely gets blamed unless he shot the ball terribly.
But either way, Kyrie (Kobe) took his teammates out of their rhythm / comfort zone & ability to impact the game themselves. Doesn't matter whether it Kyrie scored enough to make it work ... either way, he has made it harder on his teammates because he is trying to drag them along behind him rather than do it together as a team (take them with him) .
