Honestly we're not a championship level team with Kyrie and we won't be without him.

This is pretty much me at this point as well.   We just aren't an elite team this year either way.

I seem to remember Celtic fans being very optimistic about the next decade before the trade for Irving and I don't necessarily think we viewed Isaiah Thomas as our championship future. We looked at the great draft choices that Ainge was making and all the young talent we had, plus our multitude of future draft picks and our recent success in free agency (Horford & Hayward) and finally, our young, innovative coach.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

If we go from visions of Anthony Davis and Kyrie to Rozier (or worse), I’ll be pretty bummed.

Then he leaves. Don't see anything with him that says they are a contender. They are a one and done team this year. Things just have not ever gotten corrected with this group.

Full build around the youngsters and keep your picks. Build around Smart, Tatum, Brown, Williams and hope Hayward comes back.

It's only a vision.

Frankly last year's team was more of a contender and that's just plain obvious.

This year's team is severely fractured and disinterested in being a team.

Last year's EC didn't have the quality of teams in it that this year's EC does. That crap teams in the East last year is what allowed Boston to contend after having no Hayward and then no Kyrie.

I've never really seen AD and Kyrie as a match made in heaven, two great individual talents but I'm not sure they are a championship core.

They are broken from within. It is painful to watch.

If we lose Kyrie AND retain Rozier then I might develop intractable depression.

Agree. Feel like Rozier is the root of all problems. They should have moved him last summer.

How will you feel if he decides to leave? There is no doubt that he is a great talent and a clutch player, but I’m not going to lose sleep if he walks. I don’t think he’s a leader and I feel like he’s not going to develop into one. IMO, he’s one of the least likable star players the Celtics have had and he doesn’t seem like a true Celtic.

If Tatum turns out to be a Pierce level talent, I would prefer having him as the face of the franchise, even if he is not as good of a player as Kyrie.
