He was aggressive immediately last night and that is how he needs to play.

He will be ready by playoff time.

Looked great last night.

Until he threw the most careless pass of all time at the most pivotal part of the game.

Problems are apparently mental as well as physical.

I'll agree he's looking better overall vs. 4 months ago.

Guys make mistakes all the time. Marcus Smart almost shot us out of the game at points. Even when he's 100%, he won't be perfect.

Hayward was knocking down shots last night which is great. I'm starting to wonder if he can be the guy this team needs who can get to the free throw line 5 to 6 times a game. If he can do that it would be a huge boost to this team.

Hayward isn't always going to shoot lights out like last night. However, it was really great to see him knock down many 3's (because had been struggling mightily with those over the last month).

I will know he's "back" when he stops getting stripped on his drives, and when he continuously blows by his opponents. Until then, he is slowly making his way up the depth chart (despite being our 6th man) and probably is really a top 5 guy again.

Go Gordon.

Hayward in February so far:

6 games

26 mpg ... 14 pts 4.5 reb 3.3 ast, +16.7, 69.2% TS

That's pretty good!

14 games in January were decent as well

24.2 mpg ... 11.5 pts 3.9 reb 3.3 ast 55% TS, though he was -3.1.

To me, the most positive sign from him last night wasn't him hitting shots, it was driving to the hoop and getting fouls

There was one play in particular when he drove to the paint, spun around and took a step back while taking hard contact to the ground and drew a shooting foul. Didnt get an and 1. But that is the kind of play that shows he is acting more on instinct than overthinking about his injury.

Hopefully he keeps it up tonight. He had a solid game against the clippers as well.

He certainly look less tentative & more assertive last night.  It was great to see.

He definitely could. He averaged 6 free throw attempts per game over his last 3 seasons in Utah.

Ya I guess I didn't really see what you guys were seeing. he made six three pointer and 2 long twos for 22 of his 26 points. That play where he drove into the paint was one of the only plays where he actually got into the paint. Don't get me wrong, him hitting his shots is a nice improvement. But he still has some improvement to go in terms of getting to the basket.

I mean, if Hayward could be that guy who consistently gives us about 15-16 PPG coming off the bench, then we're a dangerous team for anyone in the playoffs. I imagine the starting lineup will be something like Kyrie/Smart/Tatum/Morris/Horford (nice!) with Brown, Rozier, Hayward, Baynes off the bench. Also Theis and Ojeyele for some stretches (maybe see Ojeyele on Giannis in a potential series with MIL like last year). Man I pray we get Baynes back and stay healthy through April. I'm excited for these playoffs!  ;D

He got 34 mins tonight vs the 24 he normally gets and will return to when Kyrie gets back. I was happier with his 8 assists and being able to run the point.

He will be back standing in his corner for his 24 mins per game when everyone is back though.

Why do you think that, lol. It's not like he hasn't had good games when we've had a full team
