I'm frustrated reading these knee jerk responses to a close loss against LeBron on a night his team shot 22-41 from deep.

The Hayward stuff is just tired at this point.  Unless he puts up twenty plus points, a certain contingent of fans will p--- and moan that he shouldn't be playing.  All these posts say is that the author doesn't really bother to watch the game closely, or doesn't understand that supporting players can have a good game without scoring a bunch of points.

Wait, we blew a 18 pt lead to a team that was a mess. We blew a 6 pt lead with a minute to go. The Lakers missed a ton of FTs. Stop saying we lost to a Bron team. Like Webber said on TV....we should have our knee on their throat if we're a good playoff team. We have to be dominate at home because we aren't on the road. They arent knee jerk reactions...we've watched this movie all year.

Something happens at halftime where teams come out in the 3rd qtr and get back in the games. That is when you take their will and then they will start pulling starters.

We are 8-2 in the last ten games. Frustrated?

Hayward was a plus 19 last night, the highest on the team

Kyrie was a minus 14 and shot 6-21.

You seriously think we’re going to anihilate teams to the point that they start pulling out their starters in the third quarter on a regular basis?  Talk about being unrealistic.  This isn’t #1 central catholic against east high school.  It’s the NBA.  The other team can play too.  Frankly, an 18 point lead in the first half is close to meaningless.

People, we lost 2 homes games in that stretch and we arent the #1 seed. We didnt play many tough teams during that stretch but OKC.

I'm saying this team hasn't formed an identity. You never what you're going to get from game to game.

It was a bad game.  It happens right?  Probably Kyries worst game of the season yet still should have won.  And of course, still trust kyrie more than anyone at the end.

I didn't say every game, but this game for sure. They were short handed too and we have depth. The bench had 61 points...let some of them finish it.

I'm reading a bunch of excuses and this was the Lakers.

Ok last night's game was incredibly frustrating no doubt about it.

But the Lakers were ridiculously red hot from 3. I think we basically got the absolute best that team can muster and we lost by one point on a lucky loose ball pickup by rondo.

Now that I've slept on it was just one of those nights where the opposition couldn't miss and luck was on their side.

The Celts have been winning a lot lately so I'm not that worried about the long run.

Ainge said...have to finish with 6 point lead with a minute to go.

If we were the #1 or #2 seed this loss wouldn't mean much, but we need to beat every team that is struggling.

Coming up we have on the road...Philly, Bucks and Raptors over the next 10 games.

I am worried that this team doesn't have the killer mentality it has had the past several years.

There were a number of effort and mental toughness plays that cost the team the game. Tatum was out of position and didn't work hard enough to stay in the play. For the second time in a week, Morris was too slow and out of position at a critical moment. Kyrie was out of position. These three guys are great on offense at the end of games, but don't seem locked in on the defensive end.

I prefer Brown in the game at the end because he always has another gear defensively, but I think Stevens has come to the conclusion that the first unit does not function as well with him in. I think he's right, but it seems to be something the team needs to figure out in order to reach its potential.

And of course that’s the real issue.  It’s the lakers.  I get it, it bugs me too.  But I’m not going to overblow one game.

One game?? We've seen this all season. No killer instinct and they're acting like talent will win...they play with an arrogance like the other team will quiver at their talent.

Tatum had it going and we always stop feeding him. Too much one on one when runs are made against us. When a team starts getting hot, that's when you want to slow the game down and get to the FT line...not get into a jack 3 for 3 contest.

Normally, the Cs are elite at closing out on shooters and contesting 3s. That's not only a fundamental, but its effort.

They were pretty awful at that last night. Lebron James does that to you. His timing and cadence on passes makes it very difficult for defenders to provide help on him and contest 3s on shooters. Its what makes James special and shooters around James so dangerous.

But a lot of that was lazy effort in the 2nd quarter that got their shooters going.

Also, I noticed Al Horford looked more rigid last night. Morris looked out of rhythm. Kyrie looked tired. I wonder if the trade deadline wore these guys down. Still, it wears all players down. No excuse for the Cs.

Still, there were positives. Offensively, we looked really, really good. We didn't see that early this year. They trusted each other. They moved the ball. They shot well overall.

Is this team winless?  Are we not in the playoffs?  I get that people were expecting us to go 82-0 but we’re nkt that bad.  It’s all hyperbole based on a frustrating loss.

But more than that, it’s clear that this team was overrated and that it’s still a work in progress.  It’s about the pieces not fitting together all that well.  You can see that from the moon.

So how long are we going to continue to whine about things that aren’t what we  thought?

Of course, there’s still hope.  Team is much better since smart went into the starting lineup, still hope for Hayward to click, and we have one of the higher points per win stats (or whatever it’s called?).  These are all good signs.  But it’s probably time to stop judging this team solely on the preseason expectations.

Telling stat: we are 13-13 on the road, and 22-7 at home. Young teams take a while to learn how to win on the road.

Still one of younger teams in the league experience-wise.

Since Smart got into into the starting5 this team ,this frustrating at times times(i am 100%with you no this one especialy today after staying all night to watch lakers making 23 3p) , that seems to have the wrong pieces , is top3 team in the league.
