Bleacher Report are saying Knicks might buy out Enes Katner...love have him with Baynes injured alot lately

A big with James Haren-level defense?  He can get points and rebounds, but I think he's a tough sell for Danny and Brad

Beggars can't be choosers. We really need a center and I think Kanter would be fine.

All it takes is one guy to cause your defense to break down and he's the one guy.  Great at what he's good at, but I don't think he's the right fit.

I'd be looking at Lopez

I think Kanter is better than Lopez (IMO.) But I'd take either.

Kanter is better than Lopez, but the only need is another defensive rebounder who can clog the middle and at times guard Embid in the post and maybe Brook Lopez or Giannis for short stretches.  Baynes did a super job of that in last year's playoffs so you're talking about Theis' minutes.

One of this teams' biggest defensive weaknesses is offensive rebound putbacks by opposing bigs.   With Baynes on the floor that usually doesn't happen.  But it does when he's not.

Besides, Kanter wants to play. Theis' minutes I don't think would be appealing.

We don't need a big. We are deep there

Agent Mark Bartelstein is working with the Suns to waive guard Wayne Ellington and allow him to join a playoff contender, league sources tell ESPN. Ellington is arriving with Tyler Johnson from Miami in the trade for Ryan Anderson.

? ? ? ?  Deep in mediocrity after Horford.  I am not sure that any buyout will help with that but I think we could improve the team a lot with some additional big talent.

A big is a bigger need than another wing (barring someone going out in a trade).

you think baynes and theis are mediocre?

Actually, yes.  They are both really good for 15 min/gm bench players but to me that equals mediocre, middle of the road, nothing special.  I would like us to get another starting quality big.  Baynes and Theis are useful, likable players.  Glad to have them.

Yes, sign Kanter. Kanter and Theis would be a good offense and defense combo on the 2nd unit.

We have had problems with depth at the 5 this year. When Horford or Baynes is out it gets dicey. Theis is a nice player but can be overpowered by bigger fives. Kanter would not be. Gives us good depth if we want to keep Horford fresh for the playoffs, as injury insurance for Baynes, and to use on night Theis is just too small. Wish his defense was better but maybe we could hide that on a second unit.

We may not even be able to acquire buyouts unless we get rid of Jabari (and possibly 1 other guy if we want 2 buyout signings). Come on Danny!!

Gortat might be an option.

Why can't they just tell Bird to kick rocks for being such a bad person.
