Gordy makes $30+ mil/year and goes home to Robyn after the game.  A man of that caliber will eventually come around.  All due respect.
a man of that caliber doesn’t need basketball

He’s AFRAID to jump and admits it.

Quote
Due to the nature of what he’s coming back from – and the accident that caused it – most assume that Hayward’s greatest mental block still involves leaving his feet.

And they would be right, especially when it involves challenging a big man, either off a drive or going up for a lob.

“As I get further into the season my ankle will get stronger and stronger, and then that will translate into confidence going to the rim, and challenging bigs and things like that,” said the Celtics forward. “I still think I’m not there yet on that front. I’ve made a lot of strides as far as my movement is concerned. But I’m still not fully confident as far as challenging bigs at the rim, going for alley-oops and stuff, and getting as high as I’m capable of.”

No lift=crap jump shots and no attacking the basket and finishing. He’s afraid even to take shots

Until Gordo either gets over his fear OR has the stones to face and embrace his fear and says "screw it" and truly pushes his physical limits, he will continue to be the payer that he IS and not the player that we NEED and that he has the tools to be.

Brown looked good. Maybe he should replace Smart in the starting lineup.

And he certainly is playing (if you can call it that) like he doesn’t need basketball.

Suck it up, Gordo, and put on the big-boy pants.

Time to grow some.

His wife just had a baby. He probably isn't getting any sleep.

Also, Kyrie was a minus 16 and Hayward was a minus 2.

Stevens and Hayward have clearly worked out an arrangement where Gordon will be the one who subjugates his game so that guys like Tatum, Brown and Rozier get back their confidence and games. I think that's been a mistake.

In Hayward's last All-Star year, 2016 in UTA, he averaged 5.6 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.0 spg and 2.0 tpg in per36 terms.

Now he's averaging 6.7 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.4 spg and 1.8 tpg.

His defensive metrics have never been better.

What's different is his usage, which has gone from 28% to 19%. (Kyrie is at 29% this year, as the alpha.)

The one clear downgrade is that he's not getting to the line as often, but in December he averaged twice as many FTA as in October. All of us have seen him do more athletic things in the last month.

His shooting percentages have started to recover, as you'd expect. 38% from 3pt in December.

Honestly, I think any blame here goes to Stevens, who should get Hayward back into the starting lineup and make him a top 2 feature in the offense.

Bottom line, we will not be a top 2 team in the East unless Hayward is playing at close to All-Star level. No one out of Horford, Tatum, or Brown has shown they can be that second All-Star level talent this year.

Let GH start with a green light and sling it 15 times per game, and I think we will be a better team come April.

Or see how it works and if he doesn't, or can't, respond appropriately, then it will become clear we have to trade him. Either way we will know.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Trade him?

The guy is our Chandler Parsons problem.. Very untradeable.

He will be with us for the duration of that contract and its up to Ainge, Stevens and Gordy to sit down and discuss what really is ailling him... Enough with the injury excuse and lets not ever compare him to PG..

From my eye test the guy is absolutely done... He will be bench player that might peak at ave 14 to 16ppg maybe down the line but definitely not this yr.. His days of being an allstar is behind him now.

Thing is guys like Bertan or Korver or Mirotic have jobs because they shoot lights out from three... Gordon is not that kind of player hence he will have a hard time finding a role in the future.
