I wasn't afraid of the Warriors in 2018. I thought at the beginning of the playoffs that the Cs not only had a better chance to make the finals, but were one of the best-equipped teams to take them down, without Hayward or Irving.

The Warriors looked better in the finals, but they looked pretty bad (for them) in the rest of the playoffs. Curry wasn't right. Durant wasn't fitting into their offense quite right. Green looked slow and inefficient.

I would have been more nervous if they signed some like Ariza or Bradley.

Signing Cousins changes the entire way they play. The court won't be as open. The ball won't move around as well. The defense won't be switchy.

As an opposing coach, if I had to choose between a Curry-Green pick-and-roll, Durant ISO, Thompson 3, or a Cousins post iso, I'd pick the Cousins post ISO every time.

Especially considering the fact that Cousins is coming off an injury and was already one of the most blocked guys in the league, I'd beg them to throw it into Cousins against Baynes and let him try to create. Let the Warriors' offense slow down. Let them stop moving the ball.

This smells a lot like the Payton-Malone or Howard-Nash move for the Lakers in the early 2000s. Everybody bemoaning this and assuming that because it works in 2K, it'll work in real life. Real basketball is different. It's a game of rhythm and feel with your teammates. Rhythm and feel were the qualities that made the Warriors so good -- I think Cousins will take away from that.

That's assuming he even plays this season.

They will let Draymond Green walk and sign Boogie to a long term contract next year.

I have always been anti Cousins but after reading he signed for the MLE and we were 2nd, I am a bit devastated- I would taken a flyer on having a true center for that price and it would have made us a super tough out if Cousins comes back healthy.

If anything, Cousins is Embiid insurance in case somehow the Sixers make the finals as well.

I am thinking of what our starting lineup could have looked like had he chosen us

Cousins
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Kyrie
Hayward

If healthy, we would have been hanging a banner most likely unless Cousins is truly poison - I guess that theory will be tested now for sure.

If it works out, I don't see how he is staying at the 6.5m the Warriors can pay him.

Danny has actually made a team built to beat the Warriors for the 4th straight yr... Yes thats right.

The problem was Lebron.. We couldn't get past Bron because he was Brad Steven's kryptonite..

Boston > GS.. GS> Cavs.  Unfortunately Cavs with Bron > Boston atleast since Gh and KI was down.

Boston > GS.. GS> Cavs

Based on what?

I doubt even DA and BS believe that today

This, much alike my thinking, after winning 3 out of 4 year they become cute and make moves that's good on paper but really abandoned their best weapon for a potential locker room bomb and create huge weakness on both end of floor, now you know how to beat them-attack Cousin's lazy defense and make him post up.

Cousins has never won a thing. Pels got better without him.

GSW is not going to be a better team with Cousins, he is the biggest statistical anomaly in league history.....fool's gold. He presses all the right buttons except for the W button.

It is a team sport and those who ignore this immutable fact? I'll take the "field" over GSW to win title next year.

Sure, the guy who's been thrown out of more NBA games in less time than any other player beyond Rasheed. He's also got 118 technicals which mean essentially he gave the other team an entire NBA game worth of points.

Marcus Smart's in the locker room before the Sac game figuring out one thing only..."how long is it gonna take for me to get that clown thrown out of the game tonight?"

Because they're the best team in the league and look to be the favorites for the next two years (assuming KD stays)

If you think about the potential outcomes, it is certainly possible that he is healthy by the playoffs and that they have all figured out how to take significant advantage of Boogie's skill set. But it isn't all that hard to imagine a number of other outcomes where he isn't helpful, and he uses up a salary slot another ring chaser would have wanted.

In addition to overcoming the injury, he could struggle with conditioning. He could struggle with accepting his minutes, or accepting his role in the offense. He's Boogie Cousins. This may not go well.

Games were played and you saw that GS was just lucky....  Still they won 3 /4... Till someone takes the 1st place GS is the best team, they earned it by playing but you choose to ignore it

And before any more games are played you claim they aren't that good.....

Games should be played or not?

Houston had the MVP this year, how’d that work out?

Houston was on the verge of knocking off the Warriors until the Paul injury, so it seems that it worked out quite well.

The idea that talented and honored players don't matter in basketball is contrary to reality.
The idea that accolades define success is also contrary to reality.
The awards that matter:
Titles
Finals MVP

Anything else is noise

No, anything else is not noise.  Awards are indicators.  They aren't guarantees, but they are indicators.  The notion that a player being voted all-NBA is meaningless, for example, is an absurdity.

When people are free to do as they please, they usually imitate each other.
