I’m cool with Horford, Theis, and I believe Baynes will continue to develop his range and will return to our team.

I suspect Tatum and Hayward will see plenty of time at the 4, so we will have a lot of shooting in the frontcourt.


Nobody talked about Theis being out because of Irving and Hayward, but he could have been the difference maker in winning the East. LeBron is simply too big a mountain to climb when you are down two starters and two role players (although I don’t think Larkin would have made any real contributions the longer this series went). Outside of Horford, Baynes, and Morris, we relied on 20-24 year olds to beat one of the greatest players ever and the oldest team in the league.

We don't come this far without Jaylen and Rozier.  Period.  I get the logic behind trading Rozier (whether I agree with it or not) because we're unlikely to keep him long term, but Brown should be nearly untouchable.

I feel like a broken record in all of these trade topics. My idea is if we ignore them, they'll just go away.. but it's just not happening.

When you're 5 games away from winning the NBA title despite missing 2 allstars, it's extremely unlikely that we will trade anything for the upcoming season unless some ridiculous offer comes up (like trading Rozier, Smart and Kings pick for Leonard).

I know these threads are fun, but the odds of any major trades happening are extremely slim.

Barring something unknown, like Brown being a lockerroom distraction, no way I'd trade him for anything but an established star. Too many people get caught up in trying to fill out a checklist of what's needed to be a great team.

I haven't looked at stats but from the eye test I have always liked Alex Len. He seems like someone we could get on the cheap behind Baynes & Theis.

I agree.  However, I do think Tatum has to play some 4 in order to make the best of the Kyrie/Brown/Hayward/Tatum/Horford lineup. He obviously needs to get stronger, both upper and lower body. If that happens, then there’s no shortage of frontcourt shooting, and that assumes Hayward doesn’t play any 4 at all.
