I believe the Celtics need to try and move some pieces to get Bagley...aka Bosh. They will need a big man that can shoot to combat Embiid for the next 5 years.

Brown, Rozier and Kings pick could get it done.

We get a rookie contract and unload two potential bigger contracts while maintaining a good core. Money will become an issue...get it out the way now while stock is high.

What team would we be trading with in this scenario?
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

This would mean you could resign Smart, Baynes.

Starters next year.
Kyrie
Tatum - yes he can play SG or SF
Hayward - same SG or SF
Morris
Horford

Smart
Baynes
Bagley
Theis
Semi
27th draft pick- Dante DiVencinzo
Jamari Bird
Larkin

I wouldn’t trade brown for Bagley, let alone throw in rozier AND the kings pick....

When you look at the NBA and the top picks in this draft. How valuable will Ayton and Bamba be when teams are shooting 30, 40 3s. We saw McGee, Zaza, Nene and most big men on the bench. Even Baynes had to start shooting 3s.

Bagley is the best shooting big in this draft.

Celtics will not be able to pay Rozier and spread these minutes around so everyone is effective.

Not true. Jaren Jackson is a better shooting big than Bagley, and is a better free throw shooter and defender

no way Danny trades two blossoming players for a rookie...

However I'll throw out Jusuk Nurkic who is a restricted free agent... sign and trade especially with the Celtics having too many good wings

I think moving Brown for a project big makes us a lot worse for next year. Having an above average 2 way wing who is 21 with the potential to be an elite 2 way wing is a lot more important than an energy pogo stick who can sometimes sboot.

Is this what the offseason is going to look like around here?  Just a string of bad Jaylen Brown trade ideas because he had a bad game 7?

We don't come this far without Jaylen and Rozier.  Period.  I get the logic behind trading Rozier (whether I agree with it or not) because we're unlikely to keep him long term, but Brown should be nearly untouchable.

I feel like a broken record in all of these trade topics. My idea is if we ignore them, they'll just go away.. but it's just not happening.

When you're 5 games away from winning the NBA title despite missing 2 allstars, it's extremely unlikely that we will trade anything for the upcoming season unless some ridiculous offer comes up (like trading Rozier, Smart and Kings pick for Leonard).

I know these threads are fun, but the odds of any major trades happening are extremely slim.

Believe and need are completely two different thought patterns. Also Bagley is rail skinny, I'm A HUGE supporter of him. But I'm thoroughly convinced his actual position will be a 4, and even if Brad Stevens doesn't have set positions. That is mainly what Bagley is going to end up doing anyways.

That being said, Bagley is a great talent, and I have no doubt his height, motor, mixed in with his hustle play will be a fan favorite in Boston. But no way in hell is he worth Brown, Kings pick, and Rozier..

I would do Rozier+Kings pick max.

Guys I understand we want to keep everyone. The problem is minutes and contracts. We have to get some size to compete against Embiid for the next 5 years.

You can propose various combos but dealing with Embiid is going to be an issue especially if Philly signs a few top FAs...Bron, PG13, Kawhi, etc.

that would be about the limit I could see being used to get into the top 8 of this draft.

Rozier had some good games but killed us in that last game by playing selfish and stupid.  Would have been fine bringing him back for another season off the bench as someone who can run the offense as well as score but he doesn't run the offense well.  No issue moving on from him at this point.
