I wouldn't really consider Kawhi I frontcourt player.... also, I am really confused what you are counting as Philly's frontcourt? The only frontcourt player they have under contract is Embiid.

I think traditionally "frontcourt" refers to both forwards and the center.  Though I see it used in different ways all the time.

I'm not sure how useful it is to compare a team's "frontcourt" or "backcourt" in a vacuum without looking at the other guys in the lineup.

The Portland Trailblazers have one of the best backcourts in the league, maybe the best one apart from Houston or Golden State.  But they're a cut below the top tier contenders because their wing/forward situation is pretty weak.

Horford and Davis would be a potent combination.  A lot of inside-out skill there.  I still don't think it would be enough to make up for the team having a below average starting point guard and nobody in the lineup apart from Davis who is a really dangerous scorer.

I guess to simplify the argument I would say I think pairing Horford and Davis would give us the best traditional bigs in the league, or least right up there. Bucks and Denver are right there too.

Ibaka/Gasol
Towns/Saric/Gibson
Giannis/Lopez
Jokic/Milsap
Griffin/Drummond
Embid/?

Sure I am forgetting others off the top off my head.

The New Orleans Pelicans have begun to provide teams interested in trading for Anthony Davis the framework of a package they are seeking including multi-team scenarios.

David Griffin had previously hoped to convince Davis to remain with the Pelicans.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets have been among the teams inquiring with the Pelicans. The Boston Celtics are in a "holding pattern" and must take into consideration the future of Kyrie Irving before committing to a significant offer to the Pelicans for Davis.

Griffin hasn't sounded convinced that a single team will be able to fulfill what he is seeking for Davis and is working to find multi-team scenarios.

Griffin would prefer the acquisition of 2019 draft picks be completed before the June 20th draft. Griffin is seeking an All-Star, a young player with All-Star potential and two first round picks with those wishes on a sliding scale.
Thanks but old news. It's been being talked about all day

I didnt see anyone post about griffin focusing on multi-team scenarios, nor the Celtics being in a holding pattern

I just skimmed the past few pages again and its just people throwing out "Hayward/tatum for Davis" instead of focusing on 3 team trade ideas which is what griffin eventually will likely want

Yes this is what we all have been talking about all day. If you see a few of my post I’ve mentioned how the Lakers could have the Leg up because of Griffin asking for a 3rd team.

And I believe I said Hayward and Tatum because Hayward would be who would go to the 3rd Team.

Regardless of Griffin wants a 3rd team or not, Tatum, Hayward or Smart will be traded in order to make salaries work.

When Griffin says an all star let’s look at the 2019 players in the All Star game. James, Durant, Leonard, Harden, Irving, Giannis, and Curry aren’t going anywhere in a Davis trade.  All stars Lowry, Vucevic, Middleton, and Aldridge aren’t really valued as an asset like Tatum.  Does it even make sense to pair a vet all star like George, Westbrook, Thompson, Beal, Lillard, Griffin, or Walker with Zion as they would be on different timelines? We are left with all stars Russell, Jokic, Embiid, Simmons, and Towns.

Maybe he is talking about Philly, Denver, and Brooklyn (Towns isn’t going anywhere in a Davis trade).  Russell as a part of a sign in trade with Levert and other pieces?  Jokic, and say Murray with other pieces? I don’t think Denver would risk losing AD in a year.  Philly possibly, but they aren’t in any rumors.

Who knows but there aren’t a ton of options when a Griffin says “all star”.

Russell, LeVert and multiple 1sts could maybe meet the stated requirements if you really stretch your definitions.

LeVert is a huge stretch as a "young player with All-Star potential" but maybe you could sell him as that to certain people.  He was averaging in the high teens with good advanced stats for the first couple of months of last season before injuring his foot / ankle.

Not sure what quality of picks they could possibly offer.

Yea Russell would be the All-Star, use the other pieces to go to a 3rd team for an up and coming all-star.

(LeVert, Harris, Allen) to Magic for AAron Gordon is an example.

Wouldn’t be hard to package those guys together for an up and coming player.

League is run by players/agents... a shame really, AD or Rich Paul should not have this level of power to dictate trade negotiations when he’s still under contract with the NOP.

it sounds like klutch sports trying to ruin some leverage.   but,  like i've been saying,   this dude doesn't want to play in boston.    it's not worth the risk.

I hope they send him to the magic or suns to waste another year of his career. I can understand if a guy gets tired of playing on a losing team every year, or ends up on a different timeline than his peers ( a vet that gets stuck in a rebuilding situation). But to say you will only play for two teams in the league, that seems pretty weak to me. (especially considering that both of them were in the lottery last year...)

I still don’t think this will stop DA from making a run at him... it’s not like he didn’t know this already.
