More from the LA Times article, and if true, Pels are definitely screwing with them.

Quote
The person said the Lakers were not willing to give up the six to eight draft picks the Pelicans sought for Davis.
Late Monday night, the Lakers had changed their offer at the request of the Pelicans, two people with knowledge of the situation said.
The Lakers had agreed to send their entire young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Ivica Zubac to the Pelicans, as well as veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, those with knowledge of the situation said.

The Lakers also were willing to send two first-round draft picks, they said. Los Angeles also offered to give the Pelicans the salary-cap relief they wanted by acquiring Solomon Hill, who has another year left on his deal after this season for $12.7 million.

Good for New Orleans. Seriously, if you ask for the sun, the moon and the stars, and the Lakers are only offering the stars, you wait it out. The stars will still be available over the summer, and maybe somebody will throw in the sun or the moon.

Anthony davis comments on boston in 2017.. HE DOES NOT WANT TO COME HERE. PLEASE DONT TRADE TATUM FOR THIS GUY!!!!

https://celticswire.usatoday.com/2017/12/19/anthony-davis-boston-celtics-trade-pursuit-isaiah-thomas-new-orleans-pelicans/

"But in an interview with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis discussed the Celtics’ pursuit for his services last season and how his feelings about his place in New Orleans have evolved since the Isaiah Thomas trade.

“He told me that [Boston] was calling, but nothing was going to happen,” Davis said of Pelicans GM Dell Demps. “At the same time, though, you see how organizations treat players. Isaiah Thomas. DeMarcus [Cousins] told me that the [Kings] told him that he wasn’t going to get traded, but they traded him. Isaiah took his team to the Eastern Conference Finals, and they traded him.

“It makes you wonder: Does this organization really have my back? I’ve been loyal to this organization. I love it here. I love this team. I think we’re moving in the right direction. DeMarcus, [Rajon] Rondo, some other players that are helping us, but people get judged on winning. And I want to win.”

It is pretty ironic he is calling out the Kings and Celtics for trading their players before their contracts were up, but is demanding a trade before his contract is up after saying the organization was moving in the right direction last year?

agreed but it is what it is.. if he feels entitled to be a hypocrite it doesn't help the Celtics at all... and his dad just said the same thing a few days ago... so it's clear he doesn't want to be here and unless we can get him WITHOUT giving up tatum I say MOVE ON.

That LA times reporter is the only one reporting about Lakers accepting Solomon Hill. No one else, not Woj, not shams, not stein

Not saying it's not true, but seems fishy they have so many specifics and no one else is corroborating his story

And those sleezeball Fakers with more posturing (same article):

Quote
The Lakers have been adamant that they will not get into a bidding war this summer with the Boston Celtics, who are another team that is interested in Davis.
The Lakers have said that if the Pelicans revisit the trade during the summer, Los Angeles’ offer will be less than what it is now.

Haha...sure!😉😉😉😉

It becomes harder to take back salary over the summer, so I guess it could be less than what it is now, but if it comes to a bidding war over the summer, I think that we all know that they will play.

This is kind of a side-track but I am surprised that players are down on the Celtics because they traded Isaiah Thomas.  They traded him to the Cavs to play with LeBron for a title.  They traded him for Kyrie Irving.  Do players really want the Celtics to not trade for Kyrie just because Isaiah is a really good guy?

I love Isaiah.  He had a generationally good year.  The Celtics sold high and got Kyrie ****g Irving and Davis is down on the Celtics for that?  What should be the code?  If a player has a good year for a team and the player is really likable , then the team can never trade him, even for one of the best players in the league?

We aren't getting Davis for a number of reasons which is too bad.  He is a great player.  Our team would be great with Davis and Kyrie.   Maybe Davis should go to Denver and play with Isaiah and see if that is better than playing with Kyrie in Boston.

I wouldn't have taken this specific deal, since I think a couple of rookies on the Lakers like Wagner and Bonga have potential and are easy to include and I would want Ball to go to a third team, but overall I find the Pelicans dumb to not take an offer of this magnitude.

I'm actually on the side of the Lakers that this a very good offer and that the Pelicans are getting a little ridiculous. This looks like it's done out of spite. Unless the Pelicans FO has some kind of promise by Danny Ainge that he will offer the farm and will give up Tatum and Brown + 4 picks, they're taking a big risk.

There's a lot that can happen until June and maybe the bidding war that the Pelicans long for won't take place on the scale that they're thinking now and they have to take a worse deal than this. Whatever teams that win the lottery might not be willing to part with Williamson or Barrett and a bunch of picks for Davis. Then why should Boston come over the top with an outrageous offer?

I honestly don't think there's ever been a bigger offer than what the Lakers are putting on the table here. Rightfully so, but I think the Pelicans are fools to not accept it.

Now that it is over, who cares, but, just what the he*& do the Lakers have for draft picks?

They have around the 13th this year(2019) and, should they have Davis? A worse first rounder in 2020.

Ainge has Memphis and Sac pix which eventually become unprotected along with other picks that are equal or better.

This wasn't a mystery to anyone 18 months ago. Nothing has changed. The Pelicans suck, Davis has been on the way out of NO for two years. Ainge has been saving his pennies. Lebron was still in freaking Cleveland under contract trying to get Davis to LA.

In terms of quantity, perhaps.

But, there isn’t a likely top-20 pick in the deal, nor is there a blue chip young player.

Davis is the best prime big man on the block in decades. You want to walk away feeling like you got at least one really good player in the trade.
