Woj

in the Lakers first offer to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis, LA offered Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley and a first-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

As the NBA trade deadline approaches on Thursday, Lakers have yet to offer multiple first-round picks in any deal, or salary cap relief, league sources tell ESPN. Lakers offering several different deal ideas, but none serious enough for a Pelicans counter yet, sources said

So let me get this straight... All that they offered was Ball Kuzma and a pick? Rondo and Beasley are expiring contracts and vets so they don't matter.  What a pathetic offer

Sources: In pursuit of All-NBA star Anthony Davis, the Lakers' offers to the Pelicans have not been worth countering or responding for Pelicans. Lakers' deals have included Rajon Rondo or Lance Stephenson as core parts of proposals -- along with a couple of key young players.

More of that LA exceptionalism going to screw the Lakers again! They should’ve been all out from the beginning.

This is going to end up just like PG and Kawhi with them shooting themselves in the foot thinking they’re too good to offer market price.

This is as obviously a Pelicans source as the earlier stories were a Paul/Davis source. Take it with a grain of salt.

Wonder if splitting the difference between this and the Lakers leak about offering Ingram/Ball/Kuzma/Zubac and a 1st - Lakers offered all of those guys in some version of package but never all at once. This leak actually worries me a little because it's suggesting that offers closer to that whole bunch might be welcome.

Jalen Rose and Paul Pierce calling it like it on the halftime show: this is part of a power play by Rich Paul. Make Boston look bad to make LA look better.

My own opinion: Anthony Davis had a very calculated press conference where he claimed he didn't give NOLA a destination. He's trying to look like the good guy while Rich Paul & Co. do the dirty work.

Are you suggesting that AD's father didn't make that comment? I'm not seeing any path to there being a secondary gain for the Celtics.
What the hell does Davis' dad have to do with what RJ posted? I think you should try to connect the dots better.

Yeah... I'm not sure how I'm supposed to respond to or "defend" something I never said.

This was on ESPN a few minutes ago. Many screenshots online.

We can always tell AD's dad that we'll be glad to offer his son a No-Trade Clause.

Rondo is just in the package to match salary

He'd likely get bought out

His dad said it, but look... whether or not Anthony Davis wants to play for Boston is completely irrelevant for at least 5 months until we can actually trade for him.   The only thing less relevant than what Anthony Davis thinks is what his father Big Baller Brow thinks.

AD's dad talking about the Celts' loyalty to players is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Celts are not loyal to their players?

Where's AD's loyalty to New Orleans?

I mean there's no reason for AD to leave the Pels.
Everybody loves AD in New Orleans.

Again, where's AD's loyalty to New Orleans?

Since KCP is on a one year contract, he has a no trade clause. Lakers most likely already went to him to ask if he would be willing to waive the no trade clause so they can trade him to NOLA or somewhere else. He then could easily have said no meaning the Lakers can't offer him to the Pels or anyone else if KCP wants to stay in LA.

I read your post after the news about Davis had been reported, but no worries - I also haven't followed along all that closely this week.

Because Anthony Davis served for the Pelicans for seven years and he has not received much or adequate help he gets the pass to leave their franchise.

And he's giving the Pelicans a 1.5-year chance to get something back in return or he walks away and they get nothing.
