Trade Irving then

Danny has no conscience

To NO: Irving, Morris, multiple 1sts
To Celtics: Davis
This makes no sense. They want to pair Kyrie and AD. Otherwise you haven’t accomplished anything.

Disagree

Last years unit plus Davis beats the Cavs and also gives GSW a run for its money

Having Davis and Irving but stripping the team elsewhere .... is still not good enough

Jrue Holiday may not be as good as scorer as Irving but still an All Star. And Pelicans have been struggling

Rather have last seasons unit plus Davis

Also consider that both Davis and Irving have been kind of injury prone

Last season's group with Kyrie would have done the same ....

You don't make a trade like this to make the team marginaly better (if you do).

Kyrie. Davis. Tatum. Hayward all should be on the roster. Think you keep smart also. Could see Brown, Rozier and Al being dealt. The plan all along has been to get Kyrie and Davis together.

Why would New Orleans want Kyrie Irving without the assurance of him re-signing?

The only way we get AD is if the Pelicans are smart enough to wait on us to be able to trade for him.

Sounds like a homer thing to say, but if I'm New Orleans, I would wait on Boston, and then tank this season.

Just because they asked for a trade doesn't mean they can go to where they want. Boston, with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, sign and trade Terry Rozier, whoever they pick with the Sacramento pick, and the Memphis pick, can still offer a far better package than anyone. It would be a disservice for the Pelicans if they don't wait.

And I would go as far as sitting out AD for a long period of time, and also take offers for Jrue Holiday, Nikola Mirotic and others, and just go on a full blown rebuild, and tank the rest of this season. Put yourself in a position to fast track your rebuild.

Can we somehow unretire David Stern so he can block another Nola - Lakers trade?

It amazes me that people still don't understand by now the Rose rule by now, and yet they post 1947492839 threads about it...

The news have made their way to the Pelicans blog. No wonder he wants out.
(or maybe they are in denial)

This, TP.  NOP don't need to rush this thing.  He's not a FA until summer 2020.

This.

Pelicans should shut Davis down for the year and tank and get as good a pick as a possible. Then wait until the summer for their pick of Tatum/Brown/Smart/picks/etc

The reason you Davis comes to Boston and then resigns it to play with Kyrie. AD is not going to resign here if Kyrie is traded away. He is not coming to play with Terry Rozier.

Kyrie and Davis are the plan.

Kyrie is about to hit free agency. No way he would re-sign with the Pels. If we decide to trade Kyrie, we have to find a 3-way deal.

Ainge can still negotiate with them and make offers. He just can’t pull the trigger until June, which shouldn’t matter to NO

Not that I'm advocating this trade but a 3-way would have to be worked out as Kyrie would never stay there. I don't even care to think of teams that could help facilitate such a trade.

Can see the offers leaking out, and demoralizing our young players. Especially Brown and Tatum.
