Sucks but it was obvious Davis didn't want to be here.

Here comes the youth movement.

Hope you’re ready for growing pains.

Wait a minute, I thought ya'll were better without Kyrie?

Everyone keeps brinigning up how Boston nearly made it to the finals without him.

So you mean to tell me you guys are not going to pick up were you left off the year that my Cavs bounced you? One game from the finals?

I think this actually puts chances at kyrie back on C's higher. The whole deal with kyrie was him signing with another star. KD is hurt... AD is on lakers. So who is going to knicks or Nets with kyrie? Kawhi?? His options are gone and he would have to oeave money on table...

I get this rationale. But one reason the Celtics didn't go after AD (in addition to AD's reluctance to stay in Boston) is that Kyrie seems to be gone.

You know something, this could change Kyrie’s mind...and reunite with Lebron...he figures Davis and Kyrie could stay in gold for a decade and Lebron only for a few more years....title time...

Exactly what I was thinking. Wouldn’t be shocked

Would make perfect sense. Too bad Kyrie did not have better experience in Green...if he had, it could be Davis and Kyrie in green for a decade with Brown, Horford and Hayward as mates. Sure Kyrie and Davis had some long conversations this past year.

That sports book who put Lakers as favorites somehow got wind of Davis happening...impressive

Time for cbs to earn his pay.  Tough time to be a Celtic fan.  We’ll be ok though.

Here comes Lakers fans screaming "THREEPEAT" "CHAMPIONSHIPS BABY"

Ugh just when the Warriors dynasty came to an end, the Lakers are revived. And they are going to be running the West- I mean LeBron and Davis is tough to match. Not Houston. Not Denver. Not Utah. Not Portland.

LeBron forming superteams since 2010 continues sigh.

Last time I checked, it takes more than 2 guys to field a team.

The Boston Celtics refused to make Jayson Tatum available in trade talks with New Orleans, league sources say, putting the Lakers in prime position to strike the deal that teams Anthony Davis with LeBron James

Nope it does not. I called Kyrie AD to Lakers.... look for that to happen now.

His blood cloth was deemed non recurring and was assumed to be fixed now. He will be good next year. It’s almost annoying how pelicans keep reloading their team with top talent since the Chris Paul trade. They were gifted 2 number one pick and now rolled over one of those first picks to 6 assets. Unbelievable!

I see what you are saying.. if AD ended up with knicks or nets i would wave bye to kyrie.. but this sequence of events has played out very different than we all thought

Ainge literally sat on his hands during the 2018-2019 season, did not acquire bigs midseason and pretty much did nothing getting Anthony Davis.

The Celtics wasted this year and now the Celtics are going to waste another year.

Yup. Pretty much.

So over the past two years we've missed out on acquiring Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and now Anthony Davis.

Include Kawhi as well......all because we all thought the Diva would stay put.

Yup, lots of missed opportunities.

No joke. I'm likely to no longer going to watch NBA basketball. The Lakers get what they want. I wanted since the kg/pierce to nets deal for ainge to get Davis . Now we're back in the NBA lottery. The lotto was rigged too for the Lakers. 4 years in the top 4!!! This isn't a sport. Its more rigged than the wwe

Nba wanted Davis to LAL so lebron doesn't retire  in a dumpster fire team. Didn't anyone see what silver said about the playoff viewership decline? "its because lebron isn't in the playoffs"

How do we fix it? Get lebron back in there !

I'm of a similar mental/emotional state right now. Gonna be a while before the Celtics are relevant again, and this trade further cements the NBA as a bad joke.

Sickening.  Summer ruined.  Lakers are the only franchise in sports that can be a laughing stock of dysfunction and still end up (once again) with 2 of the top 5 players in the game.  They’ve turned it around in 12 months with LBJ deciding that’s where he wants to be and then AD manipulating his way there.  I’m disgusted.

I agree. The NBA just can't resist helping the Fakers whenever possible.

And now AD is dead to me.

Ridiculous.

So now Kyrie to Brooklyn (or New York).

I guess we have no choice but to resign Rozier?

Whatever, this sucks.

Yup, definitely sucks. ESPECIALLY if Danny re-signs Rozier.

So we have our young core and five first round draft picks over the next two years.

Then we get Horford and Hayward off the books, and we can sign someone who could actually bring us a championship.

But this is essentially the type of thing some Celtics fans were saying 5 years ago—"Just collect assets the next few years, be patient, then cash them in for a superstar!"

Well, here we are, 5 years later, and we're not a legit contender. Why should I think it'll be any different 5 years from now?

I think this actually puts chances at kyrie back on C's higher. The whole deal with kyrie was him signing with another star. KD is hurt... AD is on lakers. So who is going to knicks or Nets with kyrie? Kawhi?? His options are gone and he would have to oeave money on table...

Well, there is no other star in Boston to team with. (No, Horford and Hayward are not stars.)

Well draft night for Boston will be fun

I don't think it will be. I think Danny will do what he usually does—draft "combo" guards who can't shoot, and "bigs" who aren't big.

*******

All I know is that Jayson Tatum better become an MVP-calibre player. And Brown a perennial all-star.

Man, this season's gonna suck. Some of you said things like, "Maybe they can pick up guys like Conley and be a 46-win team." A 46-win team is not great. Certainly FAR from a title contender.

Dang, this sucks.
