There's a solid chance that the Celtics can acquire Davis without losing Tatum.  Boston will likely win out against the Lakers in any package that is close to equal value.  LA will need to unload EVERYTHING (Brooklyn style).  The goal for NOP is to take all of the Lakers assets, leaving them with nothing but AD and LeBron.  At that point the Lakers would need Durant to bail on the Warriors.

At the end of the day the Pelicans are never going to be a free agent destination and they will want to avoid setting a precedent where a single player (LeBron) can manipulate player movement throughout the entire NBA.  Tatum isn't going to sell tickets in NO and the team will still need to make a series of great moves to become relevant.  I could see them accepting an offer of Brown, RWIII, salary filler and all of our draft picks.  A 3rd team might need to get involved to help sweeten the package a bit.

When we talk about salary filler though it isn’t just some throw in expiring contract when you think of salary filler.  The options are really Smart, Hayward (in a bigger trade taking extra salary back), or if Horford opts in.  Even Tatum and Brown together.  It’s too bad we can’t use Rozier as part of the deal as you can’t combine players in a S&T deal, unless if they made it a separate transaction taking back unwanted salary (like Moore) from the Pelicans.

Should the pelicans even consider an offer with Ball? He is very likely to force a trade right away. (he is not that good to force it, but i can see his dad turning this into a nightmare situation)

Paul Rich

tee shirt salesman turned NBA pimp,

Bron willing to throw in with any low life in his quest to own a team

Old Lady Buss and Magic have bought right in to the MOB ETHiC

This isn't about the Lakers...it is about James. James wants to burn down the franchise and bring his guys in. Rich Paul does a huge disservice to his other clients because all his decisions are tied to how does it help James.

TBH, Paul should be begging the Pels to get AD to Boston. Much better situation. Stable for the next decade. Better coaching, better ownership, better GM, better support. Better surrounding cast and championship ready. Lakers are not winning crap anytime soon.

But this is about what helps LeTurd squeeze out a few more seasons before his old ass moves on.

I agree with you on this.  The problem is that Paul and LeBron are on the same page regarding player movement throughout the NBA.  I believe LeBron wants to have influence that extends beyond his playing career.  The current LA situation is just the first step in making this a reality.

he said when he came to NBA his goal was to own a team like MJ , be majority owner.  Bron wants a big maket team in his control which bests MJ . The price keeps going up and i think he will do anything to raise he money .  I mean ....he has enough money to last 30 life times,  an NBA team is one of the few things he can't aford to be majority owner in.  So he is milking his career with that goal.  He needed power to make his brand valuable  .  He is aligned with Corrupt Sports to get there as his partner .  Controlling player movement .  NBA has to shut Lebron and His Corrupt sports down.  Kick them out of the NBA .  Fining does not do anything .  Throw Lebron out for a year .

Haha Davis is healthy and reportedly wanted to come back and play last night against the Pacers and management refused.

If he's one of those players who genuinely loves to play I think he may not have fully realized what he's gotten himself into here. They might not let him play all season and you couldn't blame them for it.

That would be great and even better if it leads to him firing Rich Paul.

You can see it with his interview after the trade request and his behavior overall, he's not willing to go full scorched earth as a villain.

But that's the tactic he has approved his agent to pursue. *shrug*

The NBA has a major problem on its hands. It's all well and good that players are going where they want in free agency, but they are now sabotaging the teams they intend to leave BEFORE free agency.

If AD sits out the rest of this season, it would be the second time (along with Kawhi Leonard) that a top player has basically sat out the last season of their deal (either by his own decision or as a consequence of a trade request).

It's comical to me that LAL fans actually think Ingram and Ball are each more valuable than Tatum LOL

Also LaVar may legit throw a wrench in their plans. NOP wants a legitimate young starting guard to build with (along w/picks + others), and unless PHO provides them an alternative in a potential 3-team trade they suddenly have a problem in their hands.

AD comes off as a quiet and reserved person.  I wouldn't be surprised if he's intimidated by LeBron and Rich Paul.  There much be intense pressure to conform to their vision.

Best result: He plays out this season, they make playoffs, win championship and he extends with Pelicans. Never happen but wish it could.

Here's an article by Woj written in December that describes exactly what's happening right now.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25587459/small-market-gms-upset-lebron-james-pitch-anthony-davis

"It's New Orleans' problem today, and a problem with a different player tomorrow for the rest of us," one Eastern Conference GM told ESPN. "It's open season on small markets and our players."

"If these are the rules, enforce them," one Western Conference GM told ESPN. "If you want to push Anthony Davis in L.A., if you allow LeBron to interfere with teams, then just do it. Change the rules, and say, 'It's the wild, wild west and anything goes.'

"Interference is as bad as tampering -- maybe worse in this case," one Eastern Conference GM told ESPN. "This becomes a campaign meant to destabilize another organization, install chaos and unrest that make it harder to keep an environment that the player would want to stay in. There's no use in complaining to the league about it. We all get that it's a players' league, but there are rules on the books that they need to follow, too."

I hope there are some repercussions for the Lakers, Rich Paul, and Lebron for what is going on right now, not that I expect it.  But that Eastern Conference GM is right.  This is installing chaos and destabilizing another organization.

So it was fair for Ainge to compare lebron to trump 8)

I think there is no chance Celtics can get AD without giving up Tatum. Tatum is what distinguishes Celtic offer from LA offer.

You might be right about Tatum but the other thing that distinguishes the Celtics offer is this Memphis pick, which is going to be good and might be great and will not be tied to the Celtics' success with AD, whereas every pick the Lakers have to offer is likely to be crap since it will come from a team with AD and Lebron.
