Hi Everyone. I've noticed we have the "Celtics News" thread, the "Celtics Off-Season News" thread, specific game threads, and then ad hoc threads for particular topics.

However, I've logged on a few times hoping to talk about things specific to our regular season (Queta vs. Robinson minutes, does Walsh remain the 5th starter, how often should PG13 be load managed, etc.) and don't exactly know which thread to post in.

For that reason, I'm hoping we can use this thread to continue the chatter about all things related to this year's team and roster.

Go Celtics!!

Just stickied this thread and un-stickied the off season news thread. Hopefully, it now sorts itself out. Thanks for bringing to attention.

A couple things:

1. It will be interesting to see what Joe does with the first back to back.

2. Hugo clearly better than Walsh. Hopefully he keeps getting regular burn and Walsh is just the symbolic starter.

I?m wondering if PG-13 sits tomorrow. Why tempt fate right?

Walsh is the better on the ball defender, and a better rebounder.  Hugo is better on offense and in the long run will be the better player.

3 games is still too small of a sample size, but Hauser actually has the highest NRtg (+37.5) of him, Hugo, Walsh, and Scheierman.  Walsh has the best DRtg (95.5) but a lower NRtg (+7.2).  Hugo has a solid NRtg (+24.9).  Scheierman is very low NRtg (-4.6).

I think they like starting the game with Walsh's defense.  Hauser is already playing the most minutes of this group, Hugo may see his minutes continue to increase, even if he doesn't start.  It is still just 3 games, but I see this as the start of a trend.

I think we all get caught up too much in who is starting/not. What matters is who is getting the most minutes and finishing out the game. This shows how Joe feels about the player.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

If you look at 4th quarter minutes in the games that mattered (last night vs CHI was 4th quarter garbage time), Pritchard has the 3rd most minutes.  He is the guy that is in their with the main guys (Tatum, George, White, and one of Queta or Robinson).  Robinson has slightly more 4th quarter. minutes than Queta.

So yes, they may like starting Walsh for his defense, but he is not getting the more minutes than several of the rotation bench guys and definitely not more in the 4th quarter.  Hugo had 0 4th quarter minutes in those first (2) games but got some 4th quarter garbage time vs. CHI.

Interesting that everyone played both games on the B2B. If we were going to be resting guys, this B2B against two bottom-feeders would've been the way to do it.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

EDIT: Nevermind - back on the Fire Joe Train!

Maybe just because it is still early in the year? I really think PG13 needs to take nights off. If nothing else for the young wings development.

If you ignore the context that our guys played low minutes yesterday because of the blowout...

I?m not seeing any improvement from Baylor or Hugo. Seems like Brad is overvaluing these guys.

I doubt Baylor was much of a factor there. Hugo is the guy I believe he did not want to give up.

I doubt they have high hopes for Baylor. He is a solid bench player. Maybe someday they believe he can be a borderline starter.

Hugo on the other hand they may believe he has star potential. He has a good blend of physical talent and the types of hustle play that you cannot teach. If you can add a jump-shot to that, he would be one heck of a player.
