Unfortunately that Kyrie trade now looks iffy again because Nets Pick may end up better than Lakers Pick (likely conveying to PHI between 7-10)...  :o

How so? It was fair value... one or more of Brown/Tatum/BRK/pick swap had to go. The packages that landed Butler and George were comparable IMO

Uh, no it doesn’t.

When Lonzo comes back they’ll return to being terrible

Laker pick will be 2 or 3 overall

Isn't the 2019 Kings pick #1 protected?
The pick is top 1 protected.  But we’ll get a pick either way.  Basically, we get the higher of the kings or Sixers pick unless that pick is first overall.

Hopefully the Nets start doing better.

They've looked awful lately.

I don't understand why the Kyrie trade value revolves around BRK pick being bad or why there's even a thread about monitoring it. It's currently a sunk cost as the trade is done and I'd still trade IT & the #1 pick in 2018 for Kyrie because he's worth more than a #1 pick and whatever little value IT has now (he looks awful).

If your argument is the trade looks iffy because we could have kept BRK and traded LAL18/SAC19
1) We don't know for 100% certainty that Cleveland would have accepted LAL18
2) We'll never know the actual value of the two picks until the picks convey and the players show their colors. For example lets say BRK is #1 pick and they take Doncic, but he turns out to be more Andrea than Kristaps and SAC19 is RJ Barrett and he turns out to be a pretty good player.

I tend to think that the BRK18 pick has less value than LAL18/SAC19 because of the SAC19 portion of it, but it's just speculation.

They've looked fine recently, and Russell is healthy again. They're no stars, but Dinwiddie Levert and RHJ have impressed me this year.

We got a free 1st round pick for trading a lemon for the best player in the 2017 draft and best Celtic rookie since Paul Pierce.  I am happy.

Just wish the protections were a little better, like 2-7.

Even getting Porter, Young or Bamba in this draft would have been fantastic if not Ayton, Bagley or Doncic.

I think it is too early to be moving on from the Lakers pick.  They have been playing well lately, but they also might be shopping players to clear cap room for next summer.

I am still hopeful that we get the lakers pick this year.  Good draft to find a young athletic big to groom into our rotation.  I think our prime years are going to be next year and the following 2 years.  Draft a rotation ready big in this draft, get GH back and get ready for our title runs.
Agreed.  I'm not giving up on the Lakers just yet!  This season doesn't mean much to Magic and maybe, just maybe down deep, he wants a return to a Celtics-Lakers rivalry.   :P

I tend to agree, but I think Danny didn't really want a pick this year (and the salary that comes with it) unless the guy was one of the top 5. We are already integrating a # of young guys and not having that pick convey gives us a lot more salary relief and could help us stay out of the tax for one more year. It all goes to h-e- double hockey sticks once Kyrie re-ups for a new max and Jaylen is ready for his.

It's also entirely possible he has his eyes on a player like Bamba and is able to trade the Sac pick and some smaller assets (not the Mem pick) for him...depending on the team selecting at 5-7.

Since the Lakers look decent,  what other potential high picks do the Celts have?   I've lost the narrative.

I have a half baked theory that Danny does like Bamba, not as a top 3 guy, but maybe enough to try and make a deal to get a pick to draft him.
