Imagine the weight, the stigma of biggest bust ever for number one draft choice
Imagine having to get up everyday and face that or how it shadows you every time you step on the court.
This summer he joined Impact Training and just played basketball loose  for the first time and embraced his G League opportunity-he is averaging 11.9 pts and shooting .444% from three and 5 boards.
What if he gets rescued and just becomes a player off the back of bench?-What if Danny needs to save every dollar of cap space?-What if he just makes the Red Claws better?.what if the Red Claws showcases him and he gets picked up somewhere?
Javalle McGee recently rescued his NBA career with the Warriors  although he has been replaced by Jordan Bell .Whiteside is another classic in a way Larkin and even Turner.
NBA isn't just about talent,a lot of it is drive and discipline and fit and coaching and even injuries. Some take longer, some never make it.
No longer is Anthony laboring out west in obscurity,i hope Danny or Brad saw or heard something good and i wish this player encouragement and success escaping from the stigma of biggest bust in any sport. He is now in Celtics organization getting Celtic coaching in Maine-
This is what the G league is about-

The G league is about getting Celtic coaching in Maine?  Are all of the other teams aware of this?  Also, Bennett is still in obscurity- just not to you any more.

Yeah, I think Tony Benett the player is not talented enough to make up for his average to below average athleticism.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

The guy wasn't even that talented coming out. He was the #1 pick, but the consensus was that the Cavs reached badly. In fact, some pre-draft publications had had him in the 10 range despite it being one of the weakest draft classes ever. In fact, believe he was projected in the late lottery until he shot up after the combine.

As for the G-League, who cares? Bad players post good numbers there all the time (see Melo, Mickey, Young, Nader, etc.) and they amount to anything in the NBA. Until he actually does something in the NBA there is nothing to even talk about and he will still continue to be the worst #1 pick in NBA history.

A Dec article on Anthony Bennett said he is playing his best basketball since UNLV days.

The Red Claws are celtics affillates. The below was quoted from Brad Stevens before Rockets game
Brad stated" we think of their coach and staff as part of our staff,we are in constant contact-they do what we do."
Then for us its great we get to coach guys be around guys  and learn about guys that you don't know much about untill your really around them and them coaching them"

"The G League is constantly evaluated every day by other teams scouts that is good for the players" Further quote from Brad

So if that doesn't parallel what i posted on this subject- you have an agenda

Whiteside also comes to mind, in terms of someone washing out completely and then making a comeback after bombing with multiple teams.

It's still a long shot, but there's no need to crap all over the possibility.

Rozier spent most of first year in D League-i think with the two ways that the G League became relevant and they should  add to that.Players that are young, raw and need time and weight training and adjustment to speed and strength of NBA players or a confidence boost or injury rehab or just playing off rust.

Had to look up scrubs  not a very nice term for our players that reach NBA level
Last years success was partially our bench strength compared to other teams

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think any time you can turn something people don't value into something that has value either to you or to other people, it is a smart thing to do. If CBS thinks Anthony Bennett is worth our time, it would be best to listen.

But it sounds like we're pretty far from anything that concrete. So it would be best to just..I dunno, play board games with your family or friends or something.

I think everyone would agree that Anthony Bennett is a long shot at best.  He has some problem, that is for sure but so far, no one has figured out what it is.  When I watch him play, I don't see a purely bad player like when you watched Fab Melo (RIP) play.  I see a player that is just lost or out of sorts.  I am not holding my breath that he is going to help the Celtics this season but who knows.

”not holding my breath” - as a person like Bennett who has sleep apnea does.  ;)

I really don't think it is cool to joke about sleep apnea.  It is a serious issue.

In fact, you can die from it.

https://www.sleepapnea.org/carrie-fisher-yes-you-can-die-from-sleep-apnea/

Bennett cannot help the fact that he had both asthma and sleep apnea and other issues!!  He was not overweight with can sometimes cause those issues!!
