He bounced around the league and couldn't even carve out a role with Brooklyn, which at the time was basically an auditioning for a backup spot at the "bigs" position behind Brook Lopez.  He ended up getting less playing time (MPG) than Justin Hamilton (no longer in the league) and Quincy Acy.

I don't think he's worth a roster spot on this team.
True, but the Nets not figuring out how to coach isn't really evidence of him being terrible.

The fact that he's never been anything remotely close to effective in any NBA role he's every played in IS evidence of him being terrible.

I really don't think he is an NBA player.  As other's have said, I don't see him being any better then Jabusele / Semi right now.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
It seems he has an adversity problem  according to Cleveland-he runs away from it.
He spent the summer with Impact Training  and now the celts can watch closely with time and for very little money.Watching his attitude and training habits that he claims he now has.

Green recently scored 18 points in 27 minutes and then another double digit game including tying three pointer resulting in 2nd overtime..Not one practice with his new team.Had been out of league since pre season and is playing with a non guaranteed contract.
By the way he braided his hair in Houston Logo.
He is only 23 and Like Rollie says here a Gerald Green is possible. Look at Beasley in NY at 27.
Sometimes it takes time to get it.

He reminds me of a taller Larry Johnson. He is stronger and quicker though. Plus, he finishes stronger to the hoop.

This was a popular comparison when he was coming out of UNLV.  That comparison was put to rest very quickly in the NBA.

If I remember correctly the only couple times I thought he looked ok was I think one summer league and one time he played for the Canadian national team.

The guy  ,has 7-1 wingspan and looks smooth running
This is a no cost move to get a close look over some time.
The guy had injuries at inopportune times and probably had his confidence shattered. If anyone can make him into a serviceable bench guy it is Brad and Ainge.they had the Red Claws trade for him-so lets be GOOD FANS and give him some time to prove himself.
He has been knocked around ,humiliated and embarrassed but he is still trying ,maybe even harder now.
Cleveland said he had an adversity problem -he ran from it He is already playing in Maine hit a three pointer and played for 7 minutes.
Brad worked his magic with Jerebco and Turner .
Imagine the Red Claws with Semi,Bennett and Yabusele-Thats some serious mass on the boards

Shooting is a talent he does not possess.  Just ask the Cavs, he looks better than he plays.

Thanks for that i was only going by his G league stats of .444% from three but it was a  very small sample--
and there were multiple 20pt games and his shooting technique seemed very good.
Didn't cost anything
Danny and Brad have a good track record.
But his past history is really bleak-

He isn't a player, but we don't have the roster space for any long term projects.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Still, guys doing well in the D/G League is not a good projection of NBA prowess.  Look at James Young's stats

https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/y/youngja01d.html

Didn't project well to the NBA.  Still it is better to do well than do poorly.
