just think there is too many games period .

No back to back and three a week max .

the games are much better if the teams get practice and recovery time for their bodies.  At last I think so .  Give them a few days to prepare minds and body .  It gets to where they are playing against not getting hurt enemy rather than the oppoent.

I t hink reducing the amount of games to help with above would make playoffs even more intense and exciting .  Having more great players available and healthy makes more, sense to me as a fan .

Hallelujah. I think 72 is the right number. It'll never happen, since it will cost everyone money, but the season is simply too long.

Soft tissue injuries (STI) are when trauma or overuse occurs to muscles, tendons or ligaments. Most soft tissue injuries are the result of a sudden unexpected or uncontrolled movement like stepping awkwardly off a curb and rolling over your ankle.
However, soft tissue damage can also occur from excessive overuse or chronically fatigued structures, especially muscles and tendons. For example, if you were to do a long run when already fatigued (from a previous run or exercise), then it is possible to cause trauma or a strain to key running musculoskeletal structures like your calf muscles or achilles tendons, also see: “How to prevent running injuries”.

Yeah, it’s possible his body just wasn’t ready for playing so many minutes at such a high pace. If Hayward was healthy, and Tatum eased into his role , he may have not had an issue with the foot

This is what worries me a little. When a player rolls an ankle, you understand why an injury occurred and usually there's no reason he can't recover with rest. When he has a soft-tissue injury without a specific trauma - just from playing the game - you worry about whether there's going to be a long-term problem. There might be a structural problem or imbalance which might be the cause of the chronic fatigue and might not stand up to the season. Hopefully not!! Or at worst, maybe he's a Steph Curry type, who needs some time to build up his joints and improve his mechanics.

Obviously I'm hoping he's completely fine and will be playing in a few days. But it's a little scary for a 19-year old to get a soft-tissue injury without a fall or a roll.

Per Celtics, Al Horford (concussion) out for @hornets game. Jayson Tatum (ankle) questionable.

Can't imagine that Tatum actually plays tomorrow, but that's seemingly a good sign that he's ruled as questionable.

I did think Al would be back tomorrow, though, but hopefully both of them will be back for Toronto's game on Sunday. It's going to be a tough game without both of them. Will need Kyrie, Brown, and Morris to have good scoring games to pull out our 11th straight win against Charlotte.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

He will miss the next 2-3 games. No point to rush

He is a rookie. Workload is prob getting to him a little

A rookie + 25-30 min per game is pretty hefty

With player attrition especially among forwards, surprised Yabu not getting any minutes. Brad doesn’t seem to have confidence in him. Not like Semi at least. Hope that changes.

Don't be. He's objectively horrible and looks it every time he touches the floor.

He's getting 30 points and 13 rebounds per-36.

I mean, sure, he's only played 17 minutes all year, so someone might nitpick and say that a per-36 number is a little less informative if a guy hasn't even played 36 minutes total in the NBA.

But ya gotta admit, those are some impressive numbers.

Well, your opinion is not objective, but I take your point. Personally I don’t think we have enough info to judge him. Stevens sees him every day in practice, though, so I accept his choice not to play him yet.

I hope it's not a stress fracture. That will show up on a MRI.

Celtics have listed Tatum as questionable for tomorrow night's game. That has to be good news.

Yeah, Bulpett seems to know just about as much as us, but he speculates that the MRI must've came back clean if he's listed as questionable.

X-ray indicated no broken bones.  Don't know what the MRI said.  But I'm feeling upbeat.  Hopefully Tatum will heal fully after a week or two of rest.  Definitely do NOT want to rush him back into action.

I guess Ojeyle and Yabu need to step up a bit in Tatum's absence.  Also we got Morris back so this might not be too much of a setback.  Still feel like we can keep winning.  Maybe not 10/10 games like currently but if we go 5-2 or 6-1 until Tatum gets back, that's still a great pace.

This is the next big Boston superstar jayson tatum. They'll be putting him in walking boots everytime he strains an ankle. He probably sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber
