Something to consider:
Remember last fall when some here thought Avery Bradley had taken yet another leap? When he was being whispered as a possible All Star? When he was rebounding like mad? When he had arguably the best months of his career?
Avery Bradley, November & December 2016 (approximate): 34.7 mpg, 17.5 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 apg, .555 TS% while often guarding the best back court player of the opposition. On a PER 36 basis it's 18.1 & 7.3. That represented some of the best basketball Bradley ever played. We rejoiced in Avery's efforts.
Jaylen Brown this year: 9 games, 32 mpg, 15.6 mpg, 6.6 rpg, .9 apg, .556 TS% while often guarding the best back court player of the opposition. Now normalize that to PER 36 and you get 17.5 ppg and 7.4 rpg - numbers that are scarily close to Bradley's.
Now I'm not saying that Brown is as good as Bradley at his peak. But he's close and getting closer all the time. If 9 games into his 2nd year he's at that point....well, the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.
