we have a plethora of guys that can get their own shot at any time, all of those guys can and will drive to the basket and have the ability to finish.

it's so refreshing to not see possessions end in an abrupt pull up jumper from 20'. marcus still needs to learn.

also refreshing to see hard defense being played and to have it pay off. what I mean by that is as hard and great of a defender as AB was/is - he was undersized in a lot of his match ups. also this team isn't having to compensate for the lack of IT's height either.

it's just nice to see this team win with it's talent and not having to play balls to the wall and almost perfect basketball to get a measly win.

Thanks GreenWarrior.

This team plays very hard defense. The young guys get back fast and cover. If he isn't on the floor, Smart is barking from the bench on the defensive end. I think Stevens really has buy in.

Last night was a good example. The offense couldn't put the Heat away, but, the Heat did very little against the Celtics defense. This was true against the Bucks also.

Baynes plays very hard on defense changing the dynamic when he's on the floor.

I feel this team will improve steadily throughout the season.

I agree...the one thing I was interested the most was with the loss of Crowder, AB, and IT, if they would have the same GRit. Even before Hayward went down, I was curious.  But now, I know it's a Brad Stevens thing.  I don't know how he does it, but this calm man brings out the grit in all his teams.

Brad is definitely the MVP of The Celtics. This Celtics team also has some great young talent.

You are right... we have team now, and not an overachieving collection of players. The last two years we had to play our best to win, so that come playoff time there was no extra gear to call upon. Now we are cruising, and come playoff time barring injury that extra gear will be there.

i love the postive talk about rebounding the ball again .  Seems like forever since we have a decent rebounding squad .  Defensive rebounding is a must in my book.

With the ittle short guys of AB and IT ...always felt like we were bringing knifes to a gun fight ....always having to figjt tooth and nail for lack of size and talent.

Im enjoying having matching talent and size and not having to have CBS pull,a rabbit out his hat to win games.

We’d be undefeated right now if Hayward were playing. I really believe that.

I agree totally .    probably close to 20 point game we had to loose and now make up . Plus his lenght on defense was so refreshing ....not getting killed by easy jumpers over our short guards of last season .

We were so close .......ugh

The question is, who here doesn't believe that?

I really love watching this team.. And I didnt think I would say this this early but I really love how Kyrie is playing.. his leadership and Swag seems to be pushing us to another gear..  Tonight was huge in my eyes because I cant remember the last time we beat the Spurs..  We were use to losing to them..
Kyrie wasnt though..  It was interesting to watch how he played tonight, how he came out of the gate..  Like he knew we needed the get-over-the-hump spark.   Dude is a champion.. It's rubbing off on all of our guys.

This is a really fun team to watch. It obviously all starts with coach Stevens. However, the additions of Horford and Irving can't be understated. Even though Horford may not be a superstar player or full the stat sheet with over 20 ppg, he simply makes everyone on the team better. We saw that first hand last season. His true value simply can't be measured through stats alone. I believe we're seeing something similar with Irving, who can make everyone around him better but also put up stats too. I loved watching Isaiah, but Isaiah was all about Isaiah, and he craved the glory and was out to prove everyone wrong constantly. Irving knows he's good and isn't trying to throw it in everyone's face. Irving seems more concerned about making his teammates better and showing trust in them to make shots. This teams feels like anyone can make a shot with under 5 seconds on the shot clock, where last season that was left to Isaiah.

Maybe playing with LeBron gave Irving a different perspective that he never had before. Playing in the shadow of a superstar player on your team can be demoralizing. Irving didn't seem to come to Boston with any ego, and seems to just want to be on of the guys and be part of a team. He seems to be investing in his teammates now to make plays, which will help benefit the team in the future. Obviously, Irving can go off whenever he wants to and could score at will, but that wouldn't necessarily be beneficial long-term to the team.

We all want to see the team win now, but there is always a part of us that wants to see into the future with young players. This team seems to be the perfect blend. Brown and Tatum have been playing well beyond their years. Brown looks more aggressive this season, and if Tatum is hitting his (smooth) shot, he seems to be a reliable rebounder.

After seeing the benefits of what Al and Kyrie bring to the team, I can't wait to see Hayward. Thank you Danny for putting this team together.

Losing Hayward eliminated any slim chance we had at a ring and it's really taken the pressure off the season, in addition to giving two excellent young guys a lot more minutes at the wing.

The thing that impresses me the most is how this team is just dripping with young talent, plus the all-around excellence of Horford. It's not only a pleasure to watch them now, but amplified by knowing most of the key players are going to get even better, and we even have an All-Star and a likely high pick waiting in the wings to be added to the mix.

Brad's done an incredible job yet again getting an almost totally new roster to play well together in no time flat. And I've been really impressed by Kyrie, he's fitting in well, not playing much hero ball, and making plays on BOTH sides of the ball for once.

What a fun season this is shaping up to be.

I'm with you on the bold part. I think Big Al makes everyone on the court with him better.
ok fine
