I've actually seen more fiction from the pro-trade side (I.e., four year age gap, Kyrie is more efficient than IT, Kyrie was a second / third option, etc.)

-Not a good leader (takes the last shot to win the NBA championship, leaves CLE to take on more of a leadership role). He was given multiple opportunities to talk poorly of Lebron, and he declined. This suggests maturity and leadership.

-Not a good teammate (bringing up issues from the past- everyone knows that the best athletes have fought with teammates)

-Not a competitor (why leave Cleveland when you can win a ring?!?!)

I think we understand that you're not a Kyrie Irving fan Roy. What I don't understand is your proposal that would put the Celtics in a better situation to win now, and in the future.

Yeah, considering the state of IT you really can't say that seriously. Kyrie offers far more in the present than whatever portion of a season IT has, Jae and Zizic.

Fine, let's assume IT offers zero on-court value this year. You could keep Crowder and the Brooklyn Pick, package Zizic and a middling first for, say, Eric Bledsoe, and have a team equal in quality to the one we have now with a brighter future outlook.

Relax

Who would have thought 3 years ago that the Celtics would have Kyrie, Hayward, Horford and a few young rising stars on the roster? Not to mention the rights to some very nice draft picks to keep refueling. This is the best of times, people. This team is going to be exciting, not just now, but in the future, too. I mean, this young core of players is amazing. Great job to the organization for putting it all together.

More hype. More National TV games. More meaningful games. More highlights. Stronger rivalries. Deeper passion. The hunger for a championship(s)... WHOA!

Man, this is going to be awesome.

If you focus on what is here and on this roster as opposed to what is not, man you are going to love it. Brace yourselves for some really good basketball

Totally agree. I am super pumped for this season. It may take them a few weeks to gel but I believe this line up with be unstoppable at times. Weapons all over the place! I loved the Irving trade and don't think the Celtics gave up too much for one minute. Great job Danny! NBA League Pass will be initiated soon!

I have one little concern, I hate to rain on everyone's parade.

I worry about Kyrie's personality as a leader. I read a few thinks that worried me a little. He has a reputation of being distant, moody, and not a great communicator. These are the traits that IT had in spades. I'm hoping with the keys to the car in his hands, and additional maturity he'll be all that we need. 

Other than these few things, I feel we're in for a treat for 2018. We got hopefully a long term solution at the PG position, that the young players can grow with. A player that will at least hold his own on the defensive end of the floor, and be a leader, and impact player on the other end.
