I just viewed the press conference, and came away totally impressed with the intelligence, and depth of Kyrie. He touched on some important concerns I had, and dealt with the LeBron questions with class and maturity.

Welcome to the Celtics KI!

Kyrie really is a rambler. It's like his thought process mimics his dribbling. Jukes this way, spins, zags that way, etc.
I agree with you about him being a rambler, but also with the guys impressed that he said the right things.  Yes, Irving pronounces his words perfectly but that definitely doesn't prove intelligence.  Rondo was a horrible public speaker but he's supposedly a super bright guy.  Bird couldn't speak either.
The guy believes the earth is flat. With all do respect, how smart can he be?

Anyway, at the end of the day all that matters is whether or not he is good enough at playing basketball. Imo he is an elite ISO scorer, but still, I wouldn't have traded the Nets pick for him.

TP. This might be the most concise, non-rambling non-Kyrie post that I have read. I agree with everything, except I think Kyrie is worth more than BKN 18.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

KI went to Duke..  Athletic scholarship or not, I'd say his intelligence should probably be the least of our concerns.

He doesn't really believe that. He's just a rambler trying to symbolize something incoherently.

I foresee us fans compiling Kyrie-isms.

At the end of the day, does the whole "Earth is flat" thing (which I believe he's just screwing with people) matter in the least one bit or has proven to be an issue for him on court in the past 6 season he's been in the league?

Whole much ado about nothing.

Perhaps the most beautiful presser I have ever seen. Made me giggle half of the time. Everything was perfect. The Celtic table-cloth, the green jacket, the smarts our new stars showed. It felt like Frodo came back.

FINALLY.

He doesn't actually believe that the earth is flat. He said this in the midst of the whole #FakeNews debacle, I always thought it was obvious he was trolling.

The fact that people still haven't grasped this just makes it one of the greatest trolls of all time.

When asked about if Brad Stevens was a big reason he's excited to join the team? Dude beamed with the biggest smile you will ever see and said yes like three times.  ;D

I wasn't thrilled with the trade when I heard it, but I'll be [dang]ed if I didn't start grinning like an idiot when I saw Kyrie and Hayward together.

In a vacuum, I believe Kyrie is worth more than the BKN pick as well. Problem is, the Warriors may very well be the best team in NBA history. If you can’t move the needle past them, it doesn’t mean anything. (Not to mention, we still have to beat the Cavs. LeBron has made 7 consecutive trips to the Finals.)

Imo, the best thing we could have done was to be patient and build through the draft.

With all do respect, I don't know what he believes and neither do you. I do know he said he doesn't believe it and that he was trying to show how sensationalist the media/world has become.

I know a few smart people who believe pretty stupid ish. Smart and ignorant aren't mutually exclusive.
