This going to be a really long three days. I think this trade goes through either as is or with a minor tweak. That Nets pick is very valuable. The Cavs won't get better value with or without IT. The pick, JC, and a young center is as good as they are going to get.

My preferences:
top option is to rescind that deal to get that pick back.
second best option is to do the deal as is
likeliest situation is that the C's throw in a second rounder
worst case is the C's throw in another first rounder or worse yet, Brown or Tatum

I'm surprised that everyone on the internet said that The Cavs won the trade and now it's not enough. That Nets pick has extreme value.

If the CAvs are worried about PG spot, why not switch Zizic with Rozier(better player) and move on. We have LArkin who can fill the back up, back up, PG role when Smart players SG.

Zizic could be used in an other trade down the road. Plus it would be nice to have ONE guy over  6'10" even if he's still as hell on offense.

considering Cavs are looking for a first and ainge is looking at a 2nd, I think it will end up being something like a lottery protected celtics 1st rounder.

which if they get kyrie isnt going to be a very good pick anyways. which is fine with me.

I'll be annoyed if we give up a first. Pretty annoyed even if we give up a 2nd rounder. This seems like a macho move by a rookie GM and Ainge should call his bluff.

Fact is, at this point the Cavs have more to lose than we do. IT is devalued and won't play for most of the year, so his being disgruntled doesn't matter. We can flip Crowder easily. Zizic will be happy as a clam.

And for all the gnashing of teeth there is one asset in this trade that won't be devalued one bit if we take it back, which is the BKN pick. Nor is the pick going to pout or ruin the locker room. We can take it back and start talking with other teams again, many of which were willing to trade an All-Star for the pick. Or we hang onto it.

Feel like this is a bit of a gut check by Danny. I hope he plays hardball.

Trade happens with the rookie GM caving in and Ainge adding protections to the BKN Pick

These GM s would rather take less value from another team , than trade with Boston s Danny A. .....is what im seeing .

Past history ,  we d rather take less from somebody else than the Celtics better offer .....unless Danny is just willing to bend over and take it with a smile.

Cavs will take garbage deal from some western team .....Silver will just love this .

We're going to toss in a 2nd rounder and they're gonna like it or else

I thought the same thing
Give them a protected first and get on with the season already

I agree with this. The pick not IT is the most valuable thing in the trade. If IT was fully healthy it would be IT and Crowder for Kyrie with no pick of Zizic involved. Plus this saves the CAVS owner a ton of cash.

Just as with Butler and George.....hope you're not right, Shaq, but you have recent history on your side.

I think it goes through and we give them two second rounders or a protected Celtics first rounder.

The CAVS are in a position where I'm not sure they can worry about screwing over the Celtics but might have to take the best deal they can get. I think they are trying to do both but Danny is not going to do a bad deal for the team. I think If Cleveland knew LeBron was staying they might be able to walk away from that Brooklyn pick but they know he's leaving and that pick gives them a chance for a future....
