Not sure who has access to Sirius radio, but the host (didn't catch the name) just said the reports he heard is that Cavs medical staff believes it's likely that Thomas never plays another minute in the NBA and if he does it'll be after surgery.

The show is "Off the Dribble" and the headline reads "Cleveland feels IT needs 6 months..."

Haven't read anything that extreme. What I'm reading from Cavs sources is that they're concerned that he'll miss a significant portion of this season either from rehab or surgery.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

that's a really overdramatic way of saying he needs surgery. I also think he's out the whole season. Hips seem sensitive

Here it is

Noah Coslov
1/2 - On Isaiah Thomas & Cavs - put this out 2 hrs ago on FB: There's a feeling from Cavs medical team that there's a significant chance..2/2 - that IT never plays meaningful minutes again, & if he does, it would be after surgery & 6+ months of rehab.
More @SiriusXMNBA 1-4 ET.

Labral tears aren't career ending. Surgery and 4-6 months of rehab, he should return to sport at the same level as pre-injury. Source: I work in a physical therapy office. We see athletes from the NCAA, NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL regularly.

They're clickbaiting.

If there's any truth to it, the Celts are sunk.

And not only does it mean Thomas was gonna be out for much of the season all along, it now means we've burned the bridge with Crowder as well.

Fantastic.

Good input.

In addition to the labral tear, there is significant femoral/acetabular impingement.

Can you then provide a few names of athletes, especially basketball or football players, that sustained a similar injury and returned at the "same level"? I'm curious to look at their numbers pre and post injury and see if their performance was impacted.

Yeah another Cleveland source said Thomas may never walk again but the Cavs may be able to "deal" with Thomas in a wheelchair all season before letting him go at the end if the Celtics threw in a couple of more draft picks.

Just make him have the surgery. He'll be back for the playoffs.

No problem.

Edit: Whichever team he is on - boston or cleveland - make him have the surgery. Get him back for the playoffs. Both teams are playoff squads without IT.

There's HIPPA laws in play for discussing treatment of patients. But let me check through some names, a few athletes have agreed to be featured in our marketing campaigns so confidentiality isn't as big of an issue.

I understand HIPPA laws and I'm not asking for specific treatment protocols. I'm asking for an athlete that may or may not have had an injury similar to confirmed reports of the injury that Thomas sustained. As a random poster on a random C's blog I think you're pretty safe. If you're still worried, just PM me.

Exactly. Whatever is best for his hip and is the most cautious approach.

Get back our all NBa guy and our top draft pick. Let the Cavs drift aimlessly and angry.

Or they can finish this off
